people please PLEASE stop posting about a fallout MMO or a TES MMO thats not bethesda. play warcraft if you want a MMO fix. but please don't ruin this beloved franchise with an MMO PLEASE

Actually, Interplay still holds the rights to a Fallout MMO, and it's generally assumed that "Project V13" refers to an unannounced Fallout MMO. Chris Taylor's (not the one that made Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation, the other one) back at Interplay and working on it.

They had Jason Anderson for a while too, but he left to join Brian Fargo's new company, supposedly working on a sequel to Wasteland.

well that svcks.. then the extent of my fallout experience is fallout 3. i refuse to play MMO's and it willl more than likely not be on the 360 so oh well. too bad ... fallout 3 was a great game and sold well for the consoles. dumbasses

Well the MMO has nothing to do with Fallout 3, and it's not even under Bethesda's jurisdiction as to whether it gets made or not. The rights to the MMO are owned by Interplay, and who knows? after a while it could pull them out of the gutter.

Yeah, there's going to be a Fallout MMO (developed by Interplay unless something goes horribly wrong,) and if Bethesda decides to make a Fallout 4, it'll be separate from the MMO. Sort of like Warcraft and World of Warcraft.

Most likely going to be based on old FO rules and graphics and such.

I played FO1 and Fo2, I would think that multiplayer would fail.

What does it matter if it gets developed? If you don't want to play it, don't, problem solved.

But there are a lot of gamers out there who love the idea of a post-apocalyptic MMO, fallout or otherwise, so it's definately a market. And there's also the players that are sick of the hack, slash, and cast MMOs.

BTW WoW svcks goats for nickles.

Blasphemy, lies, and deceit. Did you play FO1 and FO2? Are you mesmerized by anything other than flashy graphics?

Don't get me wrong, FO3 is a great game and unlike some die hard fans, i'm not going to say it's 'ruined the FO name', because IMO it hasn't. But to say it is better than the originals.....

And using one game as an example is one sided and poor, the good examples of good games by interplay far outweight your one example; Baldur's Gate, Carmageddon 1 and 2, Descent, Fallout 1 and 2, and the Startrek Starfleet Command series to name a few.

As many posters have said, the Fallout MMO is in development at Interplay:

And a TES MMO is most likely being developed by ZeniMax Online too.

Most likely going to be based on old FO rules and graphics and such.

I played FO1 and Fo2, I would think that multiplayer would fail.

The SPECIAL rules will likely be more faithful to FO1 and 2 than the FO3 ones are (e.g. traits), but the graphics will not be from FO1 and 2. It would be silly to release a game now with 1997 graphics.

Go play Run Like Hell. Now tell me they make good games. Face it, FO3>FO1 and 2.

Run Like Hell was made by an entirely different division of Interplay than Fallout 1 and 2. And Chris Taylor, one of the original makers of Fallout is in charge of the MMO.

And face it, trying to convince everyone that FO3 is superior just because you like it more is silly.

In addition to Interplay working on the Fallout MMORPG, if there is an Elder Scrolls MMORPG chances are it will be developed by Bethesda's sister-company, Zenimax Online Studios, which specializes in MMOs.

So even if both Fallout and the Elder Scrolls have MMOs in the pipeline Bethesda is free to continue making single-player games.

But a Fallout MMO? With a ruleset that is faithful to the original games? The original feel?

With alll due respect, this is the biggest BS I've ever heard. Without the "graphics svck" and "combat svck" fallout 1 and 2, you wouldn't have fallout 3.

The fallout MMO will not be, nor replace, Fallout 4. THE TWO GAMES WILL BE SEPARATE PRODUCTS, released by separate companies, on separate dates. Yeesh.

As for the MMO being on the Xbox 360, or not? http://www.champions-online.com/ is being developed for both PC and Xbox alike. So is http://www.startrekonline.com/. Should those two prove successful, then I would not at all be surprised to see "Fallout Online" show up there, as well.

I'm not talking about anyone person, someone started it with a knock at Bethesda, which was flamebait at best. And now it's being carried on.

We've all had this same fervent discussion before, and there's no point it getting reignited here. Some people are ignorant enough to think some people dislike FO3 just because it wasn't made by Interplay, I can't begin to comprehend the ignorance of such comments. Bethesda, Interplay, it's not about companies. I like FO1 and 2, that doesn't mean I'm sleeping with Herve Caen.

I'm actually surprised a mod hasn't stepped in to either clean up or condemn this topic.
