Fallout Mod Detectives #2

Unpack the file "Fallout - sound.bsa" and find the sound associated with the mines. Create a new sound which is a second of silence or so and drop that in the corresponding data folder.

Hence, if the original file is in the BSA as "sound\ambient\mine\beep.mp3", then create a folder tree called "sound\ambient\mine\" in your data folder and drop your silent file in as "beep.mp3".

The names will be different, of course, I just made that up as an example so I didn't have to spend 10 minutes unpacking the BSA.

You can explore the BSA's structure without unpacking it using FOMM's unpacker (I think).

@Freakydoo that's very doable. How much slower do you think time should move? Reply in a PM, so as to avoid cluttering this thread.

Heres a cool mod idea that i hope is out there.

You know how you play that word game when you hack a computer? Is there a mod that allows us to input the commands through the keyboard? For example, lets say i see the word "cows" as one of the possible passwords. It'd be cool if i could type in "cows" and press enter to select that word choice instead of just clicking on it. It would feel more realistic as if i was actually hacking.

This looks promising, I haven't tested it but it sounds good. http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=121

No. Typing is not possible because the game was made to work on the 360. :(

Looking for a mod that makes random loot wieldable as a weapon.
Rakes, Crutches, Bone Saws, Wrenches, Hammers, and etc.

As far as I know Feign is correct. I think that Oblivion was made mainly thinking of the PC market and since FO3 and Oblivion are practically the same underneath it all, I would guess that FO is the same.

@Hattix,wiz0floyd:

with your help http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6997 was really simple, thanks!

[yes, 7z can browse the archive and has a nice filter function, so you can easily extract a single file]

Ok, I see. No New Reno mod.

Anyway, maybe there is a better Robots Mod? Those vanilla things are just ugly compared to the Fallout Tactics Bots.

Try out http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5463

It is supposed to add 2 gangs in town, and they run brothels and casinos. Maybe you will find it to your liking.

Seeking a Mod that removes the Karma messages. I don't want to know when I'm doing good or bad. I found one on the nexus, but only one, and from the comments it's kinda' buggy.

Please only post once. If you want a more serioius REQ thread start one. However, this thread is for searching for the mod. Now, knowing that it doesn't exist you should seek other avenues to get it.

Is there a mod out there that positions the hats, especially the sheriff hat a bit better? I mean, the vanilla sheriff hat is practically floating over your head and looks ridiculous, so is there a mod that could lower it a bit to make it look better?

IS there a 'simplified' Gauss Rifle? One that does roughly the same damage/knockdown, but uses a simple projectile rather than whatever weird AoE stuff the base one uses that makes it not work properly?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found what I was looking for.
