Fallout Mod Detectives #2

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2009 6:13 am

To avoid future "Is there a mod that..." threads I'm starting our first Mod Detectives thread here.
Unlike the Oblivion forum we do not have a buddah who collects mod, but instead we should all try to work as a community.

What is this thread?

If you are in need of a mod that you either know and can't remember the name of, or don't know exist you can ask for it here. People then (hopefully) post to inform you if such a mod exist.

Rules

Basic forum rules
No need to post "Hello? anyone know?" five times. Wait at least until the thread has moved on with one page before asking again.
For you who know the Oblivion mod detective thread might have noticed a change here. You can ask for mods you don't know exist.

I started this up as the first thread was over 10 pages.

I'll start.

There was a mod that replaced all stock armor textures with high res textures but I can't seem to find it.

Hi-res textures of all the vanilla armors.

EDIT: It says it doesn't change the normal maps, so I'm not sure how it'll actually look in game. It should be a simple (if not long and boring) job to make hi-res normal maps for all of them.

A little bit of a bump and request...

Is there a mod that modifies workbenches to be able to repair all weapons and armor (mod and DLC items included), but leaves normal repair methods intact? The workbench could be free or require simple materials like scrap metal and such.

I'm looking for a mod that essentially allows me to play the game from the end point on. Now, I *don't* mean after I finish the game, because I haven't and won't. I got close to the end a while back but lost the save, etc and have no interest in playing the main quest over. I'd like to start after the events of the end game, somewhere else than vault 13 and as someone else. I'd still like to play all the DLC, including Broken Steel, because I haven't played them yet.

Thoughts?

I think you want setstage, Vis. Check the wiki for the syntax, but it'll let you accelerate through the MQ, and get to the vanilla end - 1, I think would be safest. Then go in, shoot some guys up with liberty, and save the world from icky looking water! :D

Ok, I see. No New Reno mod.

Anyway, maybe there is a better Robots Mod? Those vanilla things are just ugly compared to the Fallout Tactics Bots.

I'm looking for a mod that will alow me to wear several items in the same slot. Not for uber stacking of Power Armour, but because I want to wear my Regulator Duster over my armour. I know the mod exists, but I can't find it.

I don't recognize that. Do you know who posted that screenshot? That would be the best way to find out what mod is in a picture. :)

Buddah banned AdmiralShlork and removed all his files, so they're gone from nexus. I have all of them though, If you want em PM me.

I still need a crosshair mod which hides the crosshair only in third person. If it's even possible.

Is there a mod out there that adds a outfit for males that consists of pants and shoes? I know of one mod that adds something like that, but I'm wondering if there is a mod that adds just that(and without the huge muscles that the mod adds, which do look pretty sweet).

Hi there,

I'm looking for a mod that turns off the sound of mines arming themselves. As it is now, you have a second to run away from the blast, I'd like it better if you really had to watch where you step.

A hint where to look in GECK would be appreciated, too.

a bump from FOD #1

1) is anyone currently working on dual pistols. is it even possable

2) is there anyway to have different time frame in diffent world spaces. example: have time move slower while in megaton, rivetcity, etc. and normally while in the "outside"worldspace.

thank you all

Unpack the file "Fallout - sound.bsa" and find the sound associated with the mines. Create a new sound which is a second of silence or so and drop that in the corresponding data folder.

Hence, if the original file is in the BSA as "sound\ambient\mine\beep.mp3", then create a folder tree called "sound\ambient\mine\" in your data folder and drop your silent file in as "beep.mp3".

The names will be different, of course, I just made that up as an example so I didn't have to spend 10 minutes unpacking the BSA.
