Fallout Mod Detectives No.7

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 8:37 am

*Taking a leaf from the previous threads*

To avoid future "Is there a mod that..." threads I'm starting our first Mod Detectives thread here.
Unlike the Oblivion forum we do not have a buddah who collects mod, but instead we should all try to work as a community.

What is this thread?

If you are in need of a mod that you either know and can't remember the name of, or don't know exist you can ask for it here. People then (hopefully) post to inform you if such a mod exist.

Rules

Basic forum rules
No need to post "Hello? anyone know?" five times. Wait at least until the thread has moved on with one page before asking again.
For you who know the Oblivion mod detective thread might have noticed a change here. You can ask for mods you don't know exist.

Oh piffle - I guess I didn't see that my last request was the last post on the old thread doomed to be locked and perhaps forgotten and not seen.

Please forgive me this cross thread bump.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1065673-fallout-mod-detectives-%236/page__view__findpost__p__15762733:
I see iPip was recommended above, but having just looked at a bunch of radio mods and see at least three choices for adding Radio stations and your own music - I was wondering if anyone has found one better than the other?

What I've found are:

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1559 - as above.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3250 - this one has 250 track potential and seems to randomize.

then there are a few radio stations ... notably http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10900 and its expansion that allow you to add your own tracks.

What I'd like to know from other users (and before I spend hours preparing the use of one or the other) is what kind of in-game controls do they have? Does one have the ability to fast forward or more in-game control?

Next - mono tracks ... I recall them being important and I know that they are for things like Reneers Radio Mod. Is there an easy application where I can generate mono versions - could WMP do that I wonder? Maybe a tutorial somewhere?

thanks
Again the sheer amount of time it could take setting up one variant over another is what is making think I should ask first.

Sorry for early bump.

Haven't been around in awhile; wondering if someone had modified the default head mesh to have elf ears. I do remember one on being on The Nexus, but I was seeing if any new heads or races had been done in the last two months or so.

Thanks.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3284 is easiest, IMO. It combines:
Some Poses (can't link-someone posted naughty pics on its page)

Looking for a mod to improve the sneak skill during during night hours.
To be used w/ FWE and ideally something more than just adding an arbitrary number of points to the skill...
Ideas?

I am looking for a mod that replaces "!" with one that is either smaller or more transparent. Its hard to tell what the problem is when you cant even tell what the "!" is hiding.

Is there a mod like Oblivion's FormID Finder or RefScope for Fallout 3, i.e. which gives info on objects ingame, so you can see which mod it comes from etc.?

I once had a mod that added awesome ambient sounds to wastes but I since have been unable to find it.

Also: Is there a greener world mod that only affects grass?

Try the optional http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2672 from the Fellout page. I use it myself and I love it.

P.S. This one looks promising too, but i have not tried it myself. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1214

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4710 - says it will remove the "!" completely.

Would http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4246 fit the bill?

Is there a mod that tweaks the arrival points of the Fast Travel markers? In many cases it's suicide to fast travel (at least with FWE), unless skilled in sneak and in sneak mode when doing it. Wheaton Armory is just one example where the char is immediately visible to a bunch of Raiders. I'd much prefer if you arrived at a safe point just outside it.

And another one: is there a mod that adds more spawn points in the ruins? Sort of like More Wilderness Life for MMM/Oblivion, but More Ruin Life rather?

Maybe I'm the only player that really likes Super Mutants, but I looked on Nexus and couldn't find anything like what I was hoping for with Muties. Has anyone seen or heard of a mod that adds more of them wandering around out of DC and out in the Wasteland; maybe in groups or patrols, kinda like they should have been in the vanilla game back and forth to Vault 87 with captives?

I can get you more Muties but no captives:
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3287
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11729 - if you're lucky, you'll get Mutie patrols

If I could, I'd send you some of my muties. I had a hundred plus a Gargantuan one night between Big Town and Germantown.
