Fallout 3 Mods FAQ

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:53 am

Just a quick question, If I port a few things from Oblivion to fallout 3 would it be ill-legal? If it isn't how can I do it?

You cannot take something from one game and put it in another, even if it is in Beth's own game.

As of yet I am unaware of any other FOMM guides to installing FOMODs out of FOMM.

I have made a http://zumbs.wordpress.com/2009/11/08/fomm-and-fomods-for-dummies-1/ on how to use FOMM and FOMODs. Also, the FOMM download link is broken. The correct download page is http://sourceforge.net/projects/fomm/.

When I try to install FOMM, it says, "Unable to get writes permission from (something) directory" or something. Why am I having so much trouble???

Try right clicking it and Run As Admin. If that works; right click, properties, compatibility, run as admin to make that permanent.

Okay, I'm trying to get The Community Ammunition Library - CALIBR mod, and it saves itself as a folder, so I'm clicking create from folder in FOMM, but I can't find CALIBR anywhere. Any help?

Use FOMM's other create from option and choose the CALIBR zip file you downloaded.

Unless you extracted it, it's not actually a folder. Windows explorer displays zip files like folders but other programs don't.

Unless the mod comes in the form of an executable it is impossible to introduce a virus in a mod. As for purposeful bugs, I doubt this as well.

Has the issue with mods not working after patch 1.5 been fixed? I've been away for a while.
