Fallout 4 Mods - Requests, Ideas, and Suggestions Thread #2

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 2:51 am

The last thread hit the post limit but let's keep it going!

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1536694-fallout-4-mods-requests-ideas-projects-and-suggestions/

My personal list (so far)

- Basic mod to allow Sprinting to be a HOLD (wtf this should be default)

- Basic mod to allow Aiming to be a TOGGLE (wtf this should be default)

- Immersive First Person mod like the one in Skyrim but calibrated better for shooting. (plus immersive animations)

- Basic "wait anywhere" mod

- Mod that introduces karma and reputation for factions (with ability to join raider gangs if you are enough of an [censored])

- Mod that allows faction armor to disguise you

- Mod that introduces weapon, armor and item degradation

- Survival mod: eat, drink, sleep to survive

- UI/Menu mod - can we get RID of the COD-style hit indicators please?

- Better faces/bodies (people look like clay to me on ultra...wait, are they all synths?!)

- More settlement upgrades (better looking houses, for example, able to dress/uniform all of your settlement citizens, equip them with weapons, etc. take any of them with you)

- Real world weapons

- More weapon customization

- Ability to go prone and crawl (for us leet shnaipaz) and for that to further reduce visibility/detection

- Leaning (manual, not just contextual)

- Skills

- New XP system that rewards you for doing skill-related actions (a la Elder Scrolls) rather than quests, kills and discoveries

- New perks, extended perk trees, etc.

- Better textures overall

- Martha's Vineyard expansion/mod with heavy Lovecraftian themes (underwater city a la Bioshock?)

- Vehicles and mounts! Motorcycles and cars, ride a Brahmin, etc.

- More followers with better options (choose what they wear in different situations, what they fight with and pick their special/perks, markers on map/compass)

- NPC AI tweaks/upgrades

- All NPCs non-essential

- More random encounters

- More monsters, wildlife and random looks (Mutant/Monster Mod)

- Give everything weight, from caps to ammo, etc.

- The ability to craft robots/synths as companions

- Cybernetic limb replacement (maybe even play AS a synth?)

- Bionic implants

- All lights destructible

- More destructible objects in general

- Hair/facial hair growth

- Body changes over time (get fat, get fit)

- Bathing/smell affecting charisma

- Map markers for crafting stations

- Alternate Starts

- Enhanced Conflict mod a la Warzones for Skyrim

- Ghoul invasion mod - stop a massive Feral Ghoul invasion of the Commonwealth

- Make (almost) any location settlement (just place down a workshop)

- Dual Wielding Hanguns and short melee weapons

- Dual wielding Longguns and large melee weapons in Power Armor

- Advanced ballistics (bullet drop, windage, ricochet, shrapnel, concussion, surface penetration depending on material versus caliber, corealis effect)

- Enhanced Medical Overhaul - real uses for tourniquets, IVs, various medical items and procedures for healing different types of wounds

- Earplug mod. Without a helmet that covers your ears or earplugs (can use cigarettes or gum) you will become temporarily deaf after prolonged gun-fighting in close quarters.

- Open all shuttered buildings project (All those boarded up inaccessible buildings either become enterable in the overworld or their own cells)

- More real-world military gear/outfits

- Thermal sights

- Binocs, laser designators, etc

- Mesh collision overhaul (so I can shoot through the little gaps in wood and brick walls and fences)

- Bows, crossbows and spears (lol NOT a troll)

- Make all crates lootable

- More breakable objects, like bottle and vases and window panes of course...

- An unread or unlistened marker for Misc loot like notes and holotapes

- Visible holstered weapons

- More dynamic carry weight options like you get slower the more you have on you, your accuracy is reduced, but equipping things makes them weight less.

- Weapon flashlight attachments (yes I know we have the pipboy light and/or power armor light but sometimes I just want a shotgun with a maglight on it!)

You obviously haven't seen a laser ricochet off a Radscorpion.

Are you referring to this?

- Advanced ballistics

Because ballistics refers to projectile weapons, not energy weapons.

I don't know if it quoted. But yes. Advanced Ballistics. Still it could already be in game since laser fire already shows this to be possible. Maybe it only works with low caliber ammunition.

Haven't seen any evidence of it yet, but that's be great if it is! I'm pretty much always using ballistics of some kind. Never melee or energy weapons.

Adding to one of your ideas, attatch the body shape sliders to special stats. Higher agility reduces how fat your character is and higher strength increases how much muscle you have. Maybe even modify NPCs so you can guage their skills by apearance.

Allow us to strip a weapon of any mods other than default when you scrap it, so you can keep scopes and such.

An amunition workbench like the one in New Vegas.

cooked food is still radioactive.

retrievable throwing knives for your grenade slot (stealth alternative).

Nice ideas! LOVE the SPECIAL-based bodies and I would definitely use throwing knives!

A vault player home and the ability to rebuild the Sanctuary houses to their prewar glory. It's been a long time since the war.

- New building materials, like concrete. I want to make something solid looking, not to fall after a fingerpoke.
- Vertibird transport not associated with BoS.
- Classic weapons, like Pulse Gun, Plasma Caster or Wattz Laser Rifle.
- More radiostations.
- Eyebot Companion.
- More visually distinct upgrades to my Power Armor, if I buy Tesla Coils I want to see them on the armor.
- Tesla Coil based settlement deffense, for all Red Alert fans :D
- Our own, functional boat/ship.

I'd just like to see a normal crosshair, I do not like that it changes when you are on a target, just a plain and simple crosshair. Probably been asked for elsewhere but it may not be a simple tweak due to the fact it changes the way it does. Absolute preference would be like the Skyrim Immersive Hud, No Crosshair unless you are specifically looking at something and Hud only shows when needed, such as low health.

Come on. This is Bethesda. I bet the reason why they made mods compatible with the game was because they are tired of trying to meet everyone's crazy demands. And that is one long list of requests to put into an update. Do you realize how long it would take to add all of that extra content plus the DLC add-ons? I just want them to fix what's broken, then worry about trying to check some of those off. But I imagine a lot of it is going to be up to custom modders to address.

My mod list since Bethesda didn't add it to the game as they should have:

- Ability to remove shadows totally. (who else hates your character being shrouded the entire game? not to mention the flickering shadows giving us headaches)

- Enemy spawning removed from INSIDE the settlements (because, those walls you build are useless right now)

- retexturing for structures, walls, floors, armor, guns, etc, (because after 200 years, stuff STILL looks like cr*p? WTF!)

- companion functional commands such as wait, guard, etc. (because why lug companions around with you when they can guard your homestead?)

- ability to remove the shimmering, bobbing, blurry camera that makes you want to puke after playing for an hour. (it's a game, not a rollercoaster ride)

- VATS pauses like it did in Fallout 3/New Vegas as "slo mo" gives you enough time for 1 VATS attack before the rest of the mobs are pounding you. (Besides, VATS was DESIGNED to stop time for us old turn-based Fallout 1 and 2 players, NOT for the shooter junkies to whine it breaks their game when they don't even HAVE to use it.)

- A "current load out" toggle that marks your existing inventory and gear.

- Another toggle to hide / reveal your load out to make loot management easier.

Another way to do this is a loot bag (additional item column) that holds anything you pick up until you move it to your regular inventory or container.

I spend more than half my time managing loot. How did Bethesda overlook this?

-Icons showing current settler assignments is another easy fix to a huge problem.

These are mod requests, buddy, no one's asking Bethesda to tackle these.

Here: http://images.nvidia.com/geforce-com/international/comparisons/fallout-4/fallout-4-texture-quality-interactive-comparison-002-ultra-vs-high.html

On Ultra settings there much less of grass and rocks than at High settings. There must be a mod that makes these details the same for all texture settings.

I don't know if it is possible given the MQ story line, but I want a "live another life" type mod.

I really have little to no care about the life I've had forced on me. I really can't believe that I've already more or less stopped playing the game I thought was going to last me all winter and into the spring.

...now I'm looking forward to the upcoming Steam sales.

Very much agreed, it will certainly be more challenging to pull off than in previous gamesas games.
