Fallout 4 Mods - Requests, Ideas, Projects, and Suggestions

A good Mod starts with a custom skeleton. Lots more bones (attachment points) That is used with a full body replacement. The Skyrim modding tutorials on YouTube give you an idea of what is possible.

Yeah i know and just to clarify,I don't care about nvde mods only underwear for men's and women's.

Yeah in Skyrim I have used the nexus site for Caliente's mods and such but for under wear.

I am confident you will have a full line of underwear and lingerie available - within a month or so of launch.

More thoughts:

The easiest mods to create are armor mods - and underwear counts.

You don't even need the Creation Kit unless you are adding new items.

Modifying an existing piece, like a swim suit, only requires a version of NIFScope that understands any Fallout 4 changes (assuming Fallout 4 still uses .nif files),

and a digital design tool like 3ds Max.

That would mean that every occurrence of that piece in the game would be changed to your version.

If you create an entirely new piece, you would need the Creation kit to package it.

if Fallout 4 doesn't already have it,

mods could add true pitch black darkness for dark interiors and night, as well as things like decent flashlights to balance sight and create realistic atmosphere of seeking in the dark using technological means. maybe flares, even torches that can be made or gathered from campfires, things like that. are campfires even craftable? there could also be portable lamps.

also if the character creation doesn't have enough great hairstyles, adding more mods for preset face and hairstyles selection would improve things also.

Skyrim has gorgeous hair packs from both Apache and KS. Hopefully these get ported over. I am not as familiar with the ones for Fallout - but they do exist.

gamesas has a short description of modding Fallout. The basic process will be the same for Fallout 4. Still a useful review:

http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php?title=Basic_Guide:_From_Modeling_Program_to_the_GECK

This discusses custom weapons. Armor (including clothing) is pretty much the same. Assets are assets.

VATS stopping time instead of slowing it, and non quest related NPC all killable.

I don't see anything in there that relates specifically to Fallout 4.

But yea, with new models there probably wont be any significant changes.

lots of games have permadeath, but what I'd really like to see is some kind of permalife.

Early in the game you save a crazy surgeon from bandits. He (i'm going to use the male pronoun for ease, but he could obviously be a she) thanks you and says he'll help save you if you get in to trouble yourself.

From them on, if you die in the wastes, you wake up back in his surgery (he's got a mister handy that goes and fetches your body). If you died from a slash across the face, your character now has scars on his/her face, penalty to charisma. If you lost an arm/leg, you wake up with a crudely constructed prosthetic that has penalties to agility and gives you a limp or what not. Pay some caps, and he'll make you a better prosthetic, pay a bit more and he'll graft some flesh over it to make it look like normal. If you don't like it, you can always reload the most recent autosave just like before. Or if you accept the injury but a few hours later don't like it any more, you can pay the surgeon to make you look as good as new.

Essentially, after 100+ hours of gameplay, I want my character to look like they've experienced everything I've put them through. That robotic leg reminds me of a fight I lost with a deathclaw, the scars across the face from getting beaten to death by a raider.

It's probably far too difficult to be implemented, but modders seem to be creating pretty amazing stuff, so maybe!

Project Nevada was the kinda mod that should've been part of the original game, or at least a free official DLC.
Balanced gameplay, immersive features, lore friendly. The guys that made it did one for FO3 too, so they might do one for this game too *fingers crossed*

Closes thing that a game did with is that it scar your face if you take too many damage, the game is Fable.

In the Witcher 3, sometime when you lose a battle you be knocked out of conscious and lose money from looters.

Gothic game also had that feature.

I wouldn't mind something like that for FO4,heck if your fighting with slavers they might enslave you and you have to free yourself, that would be cool too.

Ok so i'm totally wrong and I'm glad.

We can strip the enemies naked in thier underwear at least for the female's but dunno about SS.

So caliente's body mod underwear version should be doable.

My list:

Alternate Start

Allowing all outfits to fit all armor pieces

Bedrolls or a Sleep anywhere mod

Able to wait while standing

Remove AP requirement for sprinting

Companion map markers

Smaller eyebot version of Codsworth

Allowing more then 1 companion at once.

Power armor fuel cores lasting longer

Extension of prewar sequence. Additional interactions with neighbours maybe?

That's what I can think of so far when playing the game.

Holstered weapons that are not invisible. Seriously, nothing annoys me more than this [censored] design choice in an AAA game.

When I said I wanted Bethesda to take something from Morrowind for their future RPGs, I didn't exactly mean that!

Increased NPC intelligence in the world. Seriously this is next-gen. I sneak killed Lucy Abernathy at the farm when she was asleep and Blayke and Connie were out working the field. No reaction at all to me dangling their dead daughter in front of them or laying her body out on the small dinner table.

Oh I understand there are limitations in games, but I was really hoping for a step up in NPC intelligence and behaviors since Skyrim. This is next-gen. The simulated living, breathing world where everyone seems to have their own schedules, matters to me.

Maybe I'm spoiled from Oblivion where the pure randomness and schedules of npcs are actually better than Skyrim or Fallout 4. You don't see many people leaving Riverwood or Whiterun, for example, but in Oblivion people from other cities and towns could travel to other places on holiday and all that.

I'm aware that the randomness of Oblivion isn't really a good idea or would work well in Skyrim or Fallout 4, but killing the daughter of a farmer and his wife in Fallout 4 and they act like nothing happened disappointed me a little. The only reason I killed Lucy Abernathy was to try and gauge a reaction from her parents when they saw her body. Nothing. I liked how in Skyrim a dead person's relative acknowledged their absence or took over the deceased relative's business. Fallout 4 shouldn't have been a step back in NPC intelligence.

I know Fallout is based in a post-apocalyptic world and doesn't have many bustling towns or cities full of people living their lives, but for what last available in Fallout, smart ai is actually important to me for immersion. I liked watching people go about their business in Oblivion because it was random enough that unexpected things would happen. I'm not asking for anything revolutionary, but I think adding in consequences and reactions from npcs seeing a loved one dead, like how I killed Lucy, would be a great little touch.

Only got the obvious ones so far;

Better Perk Chart - Some perks just plain svck, and it might not hurt to give it greater depth.

Better Bodies - Cosmetic mod that people will make anyways.

Better Armor - It bothers me how I can't fit armor pieces onto clothing as if they were armor mods.

VATS Time Management - It feels super awkward trying to choose what I'm going to hit when the percentages are changing. It's also stupid how the favorites button doesn't stop or even slow time.

I'll come back with more.

Also how about less essential NPCs? Go back to Morrowind's system of warning you about ruining the games quests or whatever. Alternatively, make them go non-essential after you finish all their quest lines? How do you know I don't want to kill off all the members of the Minutemen group? How do you know I don't want Sanctuary all to myself? I'm not saying I do but it should be our choice. You don't have a choice but to let those folks live in Sanctuary or wherever else you build because their essential.

Someone might want to build up their own little town just for themselves and line it with impenetrable defenses. "A world with no NPCs because you killed them all? But that's booooring!" says Bethesda. Players. Choice. Ok, I can understand having NPCs being essential for really important stuff but after that's finished, make them non-essential! Bah there's mods that throw the "essential NPC" choice out the window anyway. Hopefully when modding comes to the consoles, nodding every essential NPC to be killable should be a mod we console users can use.

*Adds another obvious one to your list that modders like and want*

Higher populated towns, cities, and more NPCs on the roads.

There you go. ;)

So without looking at the thread at all I will just toss in my pile of ideas/requests/desires from about 24 hours of played game time.

- Basic mod to allow Sprinting to be a HOLD (wtf this should be default)

- Basic mod to allow Aiming to be a TOGGLE (wtf this should be default)

- Immersive First Person mod like the one in Skyrim but calibrated better for shooting. (plus immersive animations)

- Basic "wait anywhere" mod

- Mod that introduces karma and reputation for factions (with ability to join raider gangs if you are enough of an [censored])

- Mod that allows faction armor to disguise you

- Mod that introduces weapon, armor and item degradation

- Survival mod: eat, drink, sleep to survive

- UI/Menu mod - can we get RID of the COD-style hit indicators please?

- Better faces/bodies (people look like clay to me on ultra...wait, are they all synths?!)

- More settlement upgrades (better looking houses, for example)

- Real world weapons

- More weapon customization

- Ability to go prone and crawl (for us leet shnaipaz) and for that to further reduce visibility/detection

- Leaning (manual, not just contextual)

- Skills

- New XP system that rewards you for doing skill-related actions (a la Elder Scrolls) rather than quests, kills and discoveries

- New perks, extended perk trees, etc.

- Better textures overall

- Martha's Vineyard expansion/mod with heavy Lovecraftian themes (underwater city a la Bioshock?)

- Vehicles and mounts! Motorcycles and cars, ride a Brahmin, etc.

- More followers with better options (choose what they wear, what they fight with and pick their special/perks, markers on map/compass)

- NPC AI tweaks/upgrades

- All NPCs non-essential

- More random encounters

- More monsters, wildlife and random looks (Mutant/Monster Mod)

- Give everything weight, from caps to ammo, etc.

- The ability to craft robots/synths as companions

- Cybernetic limb remplacement (maybe even play AS a synth?)

- All lights destructible

- More destructible objects in general

- Hair/facial hair growth

- Body changes over time

- Bathing/smell affecting charisma

- Map markers for crafting stations

- Alternate Starts

- Enhanced Conflict mod a la Warzones for Skyrim

- Ghoul invasion mod - stop a massive Feral Ghoul invasion of the Commonwealth

- Make (almost) any location settlement (just place down a workshop)

- Dual Wielding Hanguns and short melee weapons

- Dual wielding Longguns and large melee weapons in Power Armor

(will add more as I think of them)

I am really annoyed that its almost impossible to play in 3rd person because the cover system in 1st person doesnt work in 3rd person and you cant look around the :EFT side of covers because the camera is over the RIGHT shoulder.

My main wish for a mod is for a way to switch shoulders in 3rd person by using one of the existing buttons.

like - a tap on the aim button (as apposed to a HOLD) would switch to the left shoulder. or make the VATS button do that - if tapped than it switches shoulder. if its held than it goes to VATS.

that's it. a tiny small idea that would make 3rd person combat viable.
