Fallout 1 Mouse sensitivity

Hi,

On my PC I have mouse acceleration off, because it helps with the mouse lag I get in some games. However, I think that it actually CAUSES problems for FO1.

I'm using the high resolution patch to run at a resolution of 1280x1024. Even with the ingame mouse sensitivity slider on max it still goes way too slow. I got Timeslip's sFall, which allows sensitivity adjustments even though it is intended to slow down the mouse instead, because for most people the mouse is too sensitive apparently. Anyway I used a percentage higher than 100 to increase sensitivity. This works, but with this the cursor on the screen won't react to subtler mouse movements, making it very difficult to be precise when trying to select small buttons and such. The higher I set the sensitivity, the worse it gets. I can't seem to get a good balance between speed and precision.

Aside from turning mouse acceleration back on or running in a lower resolution, what else could I do?

Anyone? :)

I'm no expert, but when I re-installed F1 on my new computer (Vista 64), it didn't handle well, along the lines you describe, but someone on these forums told me that going into "Properties" and setting them for this particualr game to "Windows 95" took care of all the problems I had. Handles like a dream now.
