Fallout Movie Casting

Post » Sat Oct 02, 2010 12:21 pm

Got this idea from the Oblivion forums and thought I would bring it over here.

So who do you want to play your Character/build If they made a movie about your playthroughs in Fallout 3 and in New Vegas. They can be living or dead, preferably living though. You can also post who you would hate to see play your character.

I shall start off with Cary Elwes (You know, the dude from The Princess Bride) as my cliched good guy Cowboy from F3. I wonder if he can do a western accent?

And my worst idea... Steve Guttenberg as my sociopathic punk raider. The worst part? My punk raider was female.

http://www.freeinfosociety.com/media/images/1000.jpg, without a doubt. He's got the quintessential mobster look, and even worked the Vegas angle in Casino. Suit-and-fedora wearing, slick gangster type toting around a Chicago Typewriter.

Edit: Since nobody plays only once, I'd also throw in http://www.monkhat.com/Images/Stewart,%20James/Annex/Annex%20-%20Stewart,%20James%20%28Shenandoah%29_01.jpg as my gun-slinging badass for the 2nd play-through.

Considering one of my favorite film actors (Kristofferson) and Television actors (John Doman), I don't really have to bother...

? Viggo Mortensen ~ Good actor, right at home in adventure/action films
? Gary Oldman ~ Great actor, intense and gritty performances, probably the darkest and least honorable path...
? Clive Owen ~ Not a huge fan of his but he has the rugged appearance, was good in Children of Men and Sin City
? Nathan Fillion ~ Would be a bit more comical/sarcastic, but still honorable and reliable...

Other actors that have to find a way in somehow... Kevin Spacey, Tim Robbins, Simon Pegg, Will Arnett, Cillian Murphy. And probably a handful of others that I can't think of for some reason.

I love me some Don Knotts, rest his soul. I have The Shakiest Gun in the West on VHS, love that movie. Wonder if its come out on DVD?

You've inspired me Gizmo. Now that we can set our characters ages, I'm going to have to make a New Vegas character based off of that old Don Knotts character, someone with moderate to high Charisma, awful Agility, terrible Perception, and next to no skill in Small Arms, but insists on using a pistol anyway. Oh, and we can't forget his maxed out Medicine skill. There really aren't enough dentists in the Wasteland! :D A Good Natured man, but an absolute coward. Oh, and a crazy high Luck stat!

EDIT: Ooh, ooh! And the Mysterious Stranger perk. Anyone who has seen the movie will understand why. I can't believe I almost left that out!

I have a list but since if given the choice to play as a male or a female character i as an avowed perv always go for the eye candy and play female characters. So my list would have to include;

Michelle Yeoh as my noble honorable Paragon of the wastes.

Sophie Marceau as my everybody dies lone wanderer.

Gemma Arterton as my not so goodie goodie neutral lone wanderer .

Notice the bond theme here as all of my of my picks are women who appeared in bond movies, just can not help myself strong capable women with the knock your socks off look are the way to go.

For FO3 character. Assuming it wasn't a melee master but more of a talker/shooter guy I would have to say http://web.wireimage.com/images/tnm/59404527.jpg.

Slightly off topic while still being related, I gave some thought to the scenario of a movie being made based on the story of Fallout 1 and I decided none other than http://web.wireimage.com/images/tnm/6089468.jpg would be the ideal Vault Dweller, assuming the VD wasn't a brutish oaf.

My first New Vegas character is likely to be ambitious, but rubbish. And have a fondness for automatics. So I'd cast Jeremy Clarkson.

Hell I might actually try to model said character after Clarkson. who knows.

Edward Norton and Brad Pitt as one of my characters. Gonna start a club down in Vegas to understand life, god, and other crap.

Also I will create a gladiator character that uses brute unarmed force. Audrey the Giant or Arnold Shwarzrneggar.

Clive Owen. He was great in Children of Men, and has the rugged appearence. He'd have to drop the accent though.

Chuck Norris.

Oh an yeah, Edward Norton would be cool. Why? I'd tell you, but I'm not supposed to talk about Fight Club.

Hmm, not sure about all my characters, but Summer Glau, Maggie Q, and Jennifer Garner would work for some of them.

My main neutral Character would have to be portrayed by Bruce Campbell. Easy choice with his slightly discheveled look even nowerdays in things like 'Burn Notice'. But his dialogue would have to be 'Army of Darkness Style', I can imagine the look on his face when he comes across a female Ghoul, "honey, you got real ugly".

For my goody goody character... Well I can't think right now probably someone like Edward Norton or a 'semi serious' Adam Sandler. Synically picking their way through the ruins.

For my not so nice character probably someone like Bill Moseley. With wise cracks and self rightious rants included. Obviously with the hair and look of Otis Driftwood I guess.

This may surprise some of you, but it has to be Mark Wahlburg. He exuded total kickassedness in Four Brothers and while it was a smallish part, I thought he rocked in The Departed. He just can really bring the swagger when the character he is playing needs it.
