No clue where you are but I haven't seen much backlash for the DLC announced.
And your inability to realize this is a partial idea is just funny.

There was backlash on these forums, various other sites and twitter when it was announced. The fact that you somehow didn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't there.
I saw that stuff, here is the thing most of it was posted by like the same 10 people.
Always had a problem with stuff like that as most of that "backlash" was just a small vocal minority waving their look at me I hate stuff flags. They do it with everything bethesda releases. And the sad thing is many of the "backlash" posts are just idiots saying they hate something cause they know it will get them views.
Aka most of that was false.
EDIT: want an example of how the vocal minority can mess with the stats, you alone have posted a majority of the negative posts on this one concept. Sort of breaks your argument.
Dude, there were multiple negative articles written about it filled with angry people, angry people on twitter, angry people here, angry people on other forums, ect.
It was far more than "the same 10 people"
I would like the things you listed to be in hte game but I think they should be free updates not dlc unless its part of a big story dlc.
While I agree that resorting to insults is a pretty bad move when your trying to propose an idea for a theoretical future DLC, I think the OP has every right to be angry. He proposed an idea, and instead of discussing it in a civil manner or coming up with alternatives to how it could be implemented, like as part of a small questline, people jumped all over him.
And in some cases, people brought up the Horse Armor from Oblivion. That's in the past. It's done and dusted, time to move on.
I would like to point out that when Bethesda released the Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim, that was not as huge as Dragonborn, not by a longshot. All that DLC did was add a few small locations, weapons, and enemy and ally NPCs to the Base Skyrim map. That's all. And that was for $20 no less.
Dawnguard also added the Soul Cairn realm, so it was still more worth it to purchase than weapon DLC's are.
Not for the $20 price tag it wasn't. $10, yes. $20, absolutely not.
Broken Steel did the same thing. It added a few new locations to the Capital Wasteland, a few new enemy types, and new weapons. And that was priced at $10.
Dawnguard added new story, characters, game mechanics, added new locations to the original map, added new weapons and armor as well as a new large location in the form of the Soul Cairn. A weapons dlc would just add weapons and possibly a quest or two to get those weapons.
The two aren't really comparable.
Problem is that alot of us have already paid for it. We can't just unbuy it now. And with a finite amount of planned DLC, this would limit what real content we could get in the future.
I'm not altogether crazy about many of the current weapons in game, but as others have already stated, we do have mods for this, and that'll have to be good enough since Beth didn't do it themselves.
Yes indeed. I'm hoping that those will be added in the Wasteland Workshop dlc.
Not on consoles we don't. The GECK isn't even out yet, and it'll be a long wait before consoles get mods, and an even longer wait for PS4 to get mods, assuming they come to the PS4 at all.
Yes! I'm hoping they might add them as part of the wasteland workshop DLC as well. I realise they probably won't, but you've got to have a dream! Regarding a weapons and armour DLC I think they should add stuff like that as part of other releases or free updates.
All your doing is proving mine and the OP's point. Your not willing, in any way shape or form, to discuss how new weapons could be added to the game, outside of DLC like Far Harbor.
That is correct. I am very much against dlc that just adds weapons and I always will be.
Just to mention I would ALSO love a weapons, armor, clothing dlc's pack. THIS WAS MISSING alot in skyrim.
Does anyone not remember the lack of clothing variety in that game? Or do you just accept it because you don't role-play? The very essence of a RPG to it's core. Sorry but filler content is just as important, whether singular or packaged as expansions.
Skyrims hearthfire backlash were not at any point reasonable because you got 2 $20 dollar expansions with tons of content, so anyone complaining about that should snap back into reality. They're a business and quite frankly necessary as everyone stated the game needed it. Much like the robots and workshop dlc, how many people requested those? Anyone making a huge backlash is just doing so purposely to cause trouble. What a horrible example.
The horse armor backlash was due to the the fact it was a piece of garbage. It was broken and wasn't exactly worth the price it was offered. There's more of a backlash that Bethesda royally screwed over the Playstation fanbase but not bringing that dlc, mehunes razor dlc, thieves den, Orrery, wizard tower, Vile Lair, Spell Tomes and Fighters Lair.
THAT is the only backlash from oblivion worth mentioning not the fact that they made it in general. ALL of those dlc's added something to the core game, baring from the broken mess of the horse armor.
As I said I don't care about what the Horse Armor DLC did.
I will fight against Bethesda Game Studios selling armor DLC's, clothing DLC's, weapons DLC's, and the like for Fallout 4.
Some people are not walking money bags. I even though have money I can spend will never spend money on DLC's like that and it's a restriction imposed on us even though we don't have to purchase them because we can't use those DLC's when we want to get those items and mods that will require them we can't use as well.
If I knew I was getting at least 2 Far harbor sized dlcs I'd be fine with it. The issue is that so far only one large dlc has been announced and until another one is announced I will continue to fight against weapons and armor dlcs.
And I will fight for those dlc's in one shape or another. Oh don't give me that "money bags" excuse your gamers, this is a hobby and further more an EXPENSIVE one. Either you have the money to get those or don't and wait for a complete package is your call. But i believe this game needs more variety in guns, armor, clothing, apparel and whatever else. If you don't want it don't buy it. Why should the people who want the dlc's be flipped off and kicked to the curb?
This is the same crap like with skyrim and it pisses me off that people refuse to see it.
The people who bought the season pass did so with the expectation of Bethesda style dlc, not filler. That is why so many people are pissed about the first two dlcs and that's why so many people are against a weapons dlc.
The whole "If you don't want it don't buy it" line doesn't work for people who bought the season pass.
I'll fight for those kinds of DLC as well.
Then myself and others who hate BS like that will be opposing you. Releasing filler dlc like weapon packs is not and will never be okay and neither is supporting it.
If Bethesda releases something like that they will deserve every bit of backlash and hate they get.
Don't assume you know why people bought the season pass. YOU may have bought for that intention, I BOUGHT IT with the hope to get ANY dlc that I can that might add those new stuff. Sure the quests and areas are nice but those other stuff are just as important.
People have complained for months that there's no enough variety if clothing that looks like the vault suit or the brotherhood of steel uniform me being included.
People complained about the lack of more handplaced loot and improvements on the legendary loot drop system as right now no one knows how it works.
People complained that the workshop system needed more content and we're getting it on this package. Regardless of what YOU may think filler content is equally important.
The "if you don't want it, don't buy" was not referencing the season pass people, as I said before either content within the season pass or outside of it for people like myself who play on PS4 and has NO ACCESS and probably won't have access with MODS this year. I'm simply calling it with how beth likes to bend over to microsoft every generation.
I know for a fact that a TON of people bought the season pass on the assumption that we would get the high quality dlc that Bethesda is known for. People are already angry about the first two dlcs lacking in content, so imagine how angry people will get if they added a dlc that just added weapons.
And yes, filler content is important. However it is not and will never be important enough to be a stand alone DLC. Items are not and never will be content. In my eyes and in the eyes of many weapon packs represent a big problem in the gaming industry and so do the people who support them. They are nothing but a freaking cash grab.
