Admittedly, it added a tiny bit to the immersion - but why did the devs chicken out by making the wasteland virtually overflowing with water / edible items? Why bother to include a 'hardcode mode' if it impacts so little on the game? If they took the time to balance the world accordingly, it could've worked - but that would've required planning and forethought, traits which Obsidian don't possess
I regularly despair at the people around here that list 'hardcoe mode' as a plus feature. ITS COMPLETELY REDUNDANT
