I'm not saying which one is better. But In your opinion which one do you like the most?

Fallout 3, more reliable and F3 wasn't even reliable.

Fallout 3 definitely. Maybe because it was my first Fallout game and I found myself just in awe of the whole thing or more so because I just found it had more of an apocalyptic feel than NV does.

Or maybe because FO3 didn't lock-up every 20 minutes and make me wanna light the disc on fire and curse the developers for selling me a broken game.

Either way, FO3 hands down.

Fallout New Vegas hands down. Better story, close to the originals, and just downright better.

NV is much, much better. F3 might be better as an Elder Scrolls game .

New Vegas for me, and only me.

-Superior story and writing. It's far and above the pathetic attempt at a heroic epic that was FO3(and the Transformers ending. Duuuuh). But yeah, "assplushions and shinies" probably works on youngsters these days..

-Your actions have impact on the gameworld(sorta). In F3, no one even remotely cared if you blew out Megaton. You just lost a vendor, 2 quest givers and that's it. Big surprise.

-Karma system. Yeah, it's kinda broken right now with the stealing stuff etc. But thank god there are no water beggars for ridiculous karma boosts.

-Factions. NCR, Legion, House or Independence. MUCH better than being a Lyon's boy-scouts BoS or... err, yeah that's it. You ARE forced to be a BoS ally in F3.

-Deep characters. No more cannon fodder or pack brahmin-purpose followers.

-Logical enviroment with less plotholes ala F3. But still not perfect.

-"Kick in the door" (or the "cool factor") gameplay present, albeit it's MUCH more improved and balanced.

-Moar weapons and armor. And of course, weapon customization.

-Improved game mechanics. That's right, SPECIAL is more meaningful right now. You can't be a freaking master-of-all-trades like in F3.

-Lanius > Autunumn, in terms of dialogue and toughness. Oh c'mon, couldn't the piss poor colonel get a Power Armor at least?

-Finally stopped re-using the Enclave as the "generic baddies #21".

-Voice actors. My god, in Fallout 3 I was so sick of hearing the same elf guy from Oblivion, voicing EVERY THIRD PERSON.

What I didn't liked:
-No random encounters.

-Boarded up buildings.

-The whole game seems to be too NCR-sided.

-No Cass romance.

-Energy weapons svck big time.

[for now] - Glitches and bugs. But bugs can be fixed. Updates are free. Obsidian/Bethesda is not Activision or EA.

NOTE: I don't consider myself as a Fallout guru or wise-man, headmaster of the Planet. I discovered Fallout Tactics, 1 and 2(in this particular order) quite late and liked them too. So no "lolwut nostalgia old geezer dinosaur" stuff here.

Fallout 3 cuz New Vegas is too much of the same. I also felt that the story of FO3 was much more powerful then of NV.

Last week I would have chosen FO3, but I installed a more-mobs mod and now I'm liking FO:NV a bit better.

Well...

New Vegas is the obvious better Fallout game and better RPG. And considering that this is the Fallout series, I say NV is better.

I like New Vegas better for the same reason cited as a flaw in it: It has a less apocalyptic feel than Fallout 3. I like the semi-living nature of the Mojave better than the utter grey dead DC Wasteland. Also, I guess I just lucked out because I haven't been getting many crashes or bugs. Plus it has a 50 CALIBER. How sweet is that? However, I have a question: Why is karma even in the game if factions all have an individual reputation of you?

I really don't get this complaint...

Fallout 3 [censored] up bad when it came to the world. I mean, it's 200 years and it feels less advanced than Fallout 1. What the hell were people doing in DC and its surroundings? Just sitting around while in the West Coast people are actually doing something?

Easily New Vegas.

While I loved Fallout 3, New Vegas is just much much better in terms of the main storyline and the well-crafted followers. I have not had any problems with New Vegas that I have not had with Fallout 3, so that wasn't much of an issue. I will say that I did greatly enjoy the Capital Wasteland opposed to the Mojave just because of how exciting it was to be at all of those historical places. NV is longer, with a larger map, but the music isn't as good as I expected it to be. While I love 'Johnny Guitar', 'Jingle Jangle Jingle', and 'Blue Moon', it just wasn't as complete as the classic selections in F3.

That's my take, anyway.

-No Cass romance.

I pretty much raged when I found out Veronica was a lisbian. Dangggggg

I even considered making a girl character just to get a little.....closer to her :hubbahubba:

But I could take Cass I guess

Powerful in what sense?

I suppose the headaches that mess of a story can induce are powerful, though you can take painkillers to fix that.

I like them both.

It would have been nice to have some of the stuff from new vegas in fo3 but they were both fun games that filled a lot of dead time for me. I really liked that new vegas looked like fo3 in graphical style. it felt like a sequel. The sameness of the two made the learning curve less daunting. The quests are enough to overwhelm you as it is. I am glad I didn't have to get used to the foibles of a new graphical interface along with trying to get familiar with the setting, and all of the new systems too.

I think the guys at gamesas made a good decision when they gave Obsidian the opportunity to build the game. I am a little disappointed in the endings, but overall I enjoyed new vegas immensely. Now if the few quest breaking bugs could get squashed so I can tie up some loose ends, I will be even happier.

Heh, funny, because New Vegas has ran perfectly for me. I've gotten more CTDs with Fallout 3.

I liked F3 better than FNV because of atmosphere and adventure.

well, both of them are bugged to no end.

there both filled with things that think of me as dinner.

fallout 3 has albinos, reavers, and overlords :bolt:

new vegas has weaker reavers, rangers that like stalking me around, and legion assasins that like stalking me around.

new vegas has crafting that can make ammo, convert batteries, and effective poison.

fallout 3 has 5 custom made weapons that become complete junk after the 15th lvl.

like its a hard choice, when both are bugged, choose new vegas.

Fallout 3 felt more PA (regardless of the 200 year thing) because it it was more ruined, more desperate, and more hopeless. I liked that vibe better than the settled, political powerplay in FO:NV. It's as if the FO3 world was so bleak that it just ground down everyone who lived there. They needed a hero more than FO:NV ever will.
