also, £20 for the GOTY edition, it works out at £24 if I buy the 3 DLCs on steam. I think I'll hold out for the DVD instead.

GOTY's usually come out around the holidays. So FONV GOTY with Dead Money and 2 more DLCs, (as the eurogamer says), means we'll be waiting a long time for the 4th DLC and the battle of the two couriers at the Divide.

I can't see them releasing a GOTY without the Divide though. Then again, Eurogamer are just GUESSING there will be 3 DLC, it doesn't actually say that on the preorder page.

Agreed.

This is simply Amazon offering the GOTY up for pre-order. Eurogamer is filling in the blanks with what bits of info it knows.

Until we get actual confirmation from Bethesda/Obsidian, we still don't know how many DLCs there's actually going to be. Anything reported by a third party is going to have some inaccuracies.

in that case though, £20 for 4 DLCs works out at a fiver each. Preordered :)

This is based on an Amazon.com listing?

Yeah, in the past Amazon.com has also listed Bloodmoon as a stand alone PS2 game and repeatedly listed "TES Adventures" as an upcoming PS2 exclusive or a PS2 & XBox game despite Bethesda repeatedly stating that no such game was in developement. Maybe Amazon.com got a solid tip and this is really in the works but the listing could just as easily be based on a rumor or even just be an educated guess on their part.

If this is baseless we could still see it spread to a lot of other places, the TES Adventures rumor plagued us on and off for two years as various people picked it up from other sites.

Amazon.com sometimes jumps the gun on things because they're trying to generate sales. Sometimes they get it right, and other times the pre-order ads quitely get pulled like nothing ever happened. Something like this happened with a TV series Amazon had for pre-order. Everyone thought the dvd set was going to get released, and then some copy right problems developed. Amazon's pre-order ad went away without any explainations. So I'd wait until Bethesda (or Obsidian) themselves release some info about a FONV GOTY before getting too excited.

It's a trap!

But on a serious note, we'd hear from the devs first.

It basically means that the game is re-released at a later time with all the DLC and such for a cheaper price to get people to buy it who didn't the first time around.

I think FONV did win a GOTY title from some gamer magazine. But if not, instead of GOTY, they just put out a Gold edition re-release. Same thing really.

Yeah if NV doesn't win Game of the Year from somebody notable then I hope they don't call it that.
Release with "Deluxe" or "Gold" or "Something" Edition, but not GOTY.
It'd be tacky to just slap it on there to make it sound cool.
I remember when FO3 won GOTY, how proud I was that "my" game won the award, but then I saw some other games slap it on their cover just because "Western France Magazine of the PC Gamer" thought it was the best, and remembering how irritated I was that some "hoe-dunk" game was trying to creep in on the title.
I just figure it'd be hypocritical of me now to think that NV now should put GOTY on the cover just because some cheesy magazine nobody cares for thinks it is. Not that it wouldn't get the award in my book...

That was Starcraft II.

No idea why Bethesda is even trying this stunt. It's false advertising.

NV did get some GOTY awards from some mags, and it won many RPG of the year awards, and many more best writing awards than FO3 did, so I think its fair that it gets a GOTY release, after all, it was better than FO3.

On Game informer, it was Red Dead Redemption. As far as a re-release of a Fallout:New Vegas w/ DLCs attached im sure we see, I don't trust Amazon.com with this sort of info.
