Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay - Various Youtube Gems

I also noticed that when you compare it to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkbsI16HmF0&feature=related from 2 months ago, the environment looks more sharp and light orange, which are both really good things.

i dont think so. it could jsut be that the sun is coming up, cuz when comparing that video to the OP's, in your link it looks bleaker and less bright than what the OP's looked like. or it could've been the way the camera was pointed.

then again, i could be wrong.

Still puzzling on why they added a funnel right into the ironsight.

I actually like the funnel. It's different.

Sorry, forgot to quote mumatil:

Those robots are the equivalent of the sentry bots in FO3, but tougher. And much faster rate of missile-fire, judging by the trailer.

Also, if you're talking about the video I'm thinking of, the trail carbine's ineffectiveness was showing the difference that DT makes--the gun was using shot instead of slugs, and the red shield was showing, indicating that the individual damage from each pellet was lower than the DT. I was actually surprised at how much damage it was doing despite the DT issue (20% of base damage regardless of DT).

IGN just posted this video, plus another one highlighting the grenade machine gun on their site.

Well good point on the DT forgot about that and how the securitron is a sentry bot equivalent.

I just remember from a past video going through freeside how it took 4 to 5 shots with the carbine to kill a random wastelander with only regular clothes on, maybe it was just bulk ammo or so but I felt it should have done more damage. But your probrably right, the damage will be fine in the game, and besides if I feel it doesn't work right, I got a difficulty slider.

Damn man, Feargus talks really fast.
Would be awesome to have Ben Croshaw interview him.

Also I see Vic's got a grenade launcher for an arm that seems handy(sort of).

lol I get it handy.
I don't know much about guns since I live in England but lever action seems pretty good thing on your rifle, makes you think about each shot from what the Lincoln repeater has shown me...I for one am going to use lever action shotgun.

I wonder if some of these issues of things moving fast are because they have disabled Vsync during development. This helps uncover FPS issues better. It can cause weirdities in the animations.

If I may ask, whats Vsync? Does it synchronize animations and sound clips or something?

It sets the frame rate cap to the Refresh Rate, Frame Rates can go lower, but FPS will not go higher. Turning it off can allow the games frame rates to go higher, but if DirectX or your monitor or some other factor wants the game to refresh at a lower rate, then things appear to speed up or slow down to match the cell that was displayed not what was rendered.

Now, the weird thing is, sometimes you want Vsync, sometimes you don't. It all depends on the game and your system and what you play it on. If you notice weirdness in animations going faster or slower than they should, toggle this to other setting. If you don't see anything wrong, leave it be.

And remember kids, if you ever think of assassinating a U.S. President, there's one of these in each of those black SUVs. =)

Too bad http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/dike_Richardson didn't have one of these in his office.

What fun is there to fire a minigun if all you're gonna do is shoot sand?

But DAMN that was a fast silenced minigun.

All I can think about is the hours spent at the reloader making those bullets. Not sure what they cost, but I would imagine a $1000 went through that gun in the video.

Nice game looks great! Where does it show the player shooting vic? It looks like regular sentry bots not vic?

Edit: there's two sentry bots in that vid...

I love the gun. What is it?

A modded .357 rifle, I think.
(.357 rifle is similar to the Lincoln's Repeater from FO3.)

I wonder what the player level is set at for that demo... .. It didn't seem like he was taking too much damage from the bot and he wasn't wearing any armor... As much as I don't want enemies to be bullet sponges I don't really want my no armored character being a bullet sponge either.

i liked that vid i watched it a couple of times, once to see the gunplay and again to see the wasteland, and to see how big goodsprings is, it looks great and im not worried anymore, a few weeks/months when there was some new screen shots released, like the boulder city screen shot, with the player in a cowboy suit, the graphics looks bad/ not finished , i was thinking (oh its just not finish yet) , then i thought why would they release a pic if whats in the pic is not finished. but i see that this game is gonna be great
and i think the reason that gun was shooting so fast, is a gun mod, might be the high speed mod or something, and one reason victor flew like that just might be a glitch, because you remember back to fallout 3 sometimes enemies would just fly away, i remember shooting a supermutant and it few hundreds of feet, or obsidian just went crazy with the physics

Ok video I guess but there are so many [censored] commenting on it. :brokencomputer:

Youtube comments: where the human brain goes to die. :(

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Ragdoll physics never get old. If they had set animations for death, I imagine I'd start to get bored of seeing them after awhile pretty fast.

Megaton was a treasure trove of silly deaths and I loved it. I'm gonna miss that place.
