Fallout 3 vs. New Vegas songs

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 4:48 pm

I hated all of New Vegas' songs at first but there's a few I've grown to really like:

I'm Moving Out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y-WDTyhl8U
I'm So Blue - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm3jq1Cqphw
Lone Star - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38a9ijYI1Bg
Let's Ride Into the Sunset Together - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHGPECKzW9Q

Love those! But to get away from the annoying ones and add awesomeness to my New Vegas experience, I downloaded those and all the Fallout 3 Galaxy News Radio songs, and now have them playing randomly on repeat while playing New Vegas. Three Dog isn't there, but that's okay. And Wayne Newton... who else thinks he's boring?

That's one of the small things i don't like about NV, but it's not terrible. The "DJ" for New Vegas Radio is awful indeed. :x

Maybe we should slap a cowboy hat on Three-Dog, teach him how to say "Yee-haw" and drag him off to Nevada.. ^.^

I consider what I've heard, an improvement (even the ambient tracks that Mr. Zur did (this time) are a fantastic improvement... And including bits of "Lost Angeles" was a great touch.)

Wayne Newton's bit was kinda phoned in IMO... Sometimes the best cast player just doesn't get it right... The same thing happened with InXile and their "The Bard's Tale"... Who could be better cast as the Bard than Cary Elwes, and yet it was flat and lifeless.

I don't know what you guys are talking about... Mr. New Vegas is a far more entertaining personality than 3-dog.

Yeah I really like Mr. New Vegas and I can't stand Three Dog.

I do greatly prefer the song selection in Fallout 3 though.

Question; am i imagining things or are more songs being added to the radio playlists the further you progress through the game? I could've sworn i sometimes hear new songs on the same channel.

I never used the radio on FO3 the music was so annoying

But NV actually has more mellow catchy songs that fit as a great soundtrack for the games background

I like the news radio guy as well
reminds me of Alan Wake the old coot who rambles on

I like some of the songs in New Vegas, but I find Mr. New Vegas to be boring. I prefer Three Dog. I also wish there were more songs. I feel like I'm hearing the same four songs over and over and over.

Mr. New Vegas has a bullet waiting for him. Then again I've always just hated Wayne Newton so very much anyhow.

I prefer New Vegas. While Mr.New Vegas isn't the most exciting man to hit the radio scene I still prefer him over Three Dog. If only because he doesn't bother me on the air with his own sense of morality only making me want to pay Three Dog a visit, with a quest to take his head and punt it into the nearest river.

Also, Big Iron and Johnny Guitar are just great. Although like Fallout 3 I notice the songs repeat quite a bit. Shame.

Man, I have to say, most of the songs in NV drive me out of my mind. I pretty much keep my radio turned off. Some of the songs in Fallout 3 were annoying but most I liked. In NV, though, about the only one I can stand is I'm So Blue. Every time I hear that "spurs that jingle jangle" or whatever it's called, I just wanna bang my head on the table until it goes away. What's worse, that song sticks in my head. Just plain evil.

i would like to know why they did not have more songs
mafia 2 has a ton of great music from the 40/50's
everything from bing crosby, dean martin, buddy holly, little richard, tommy dorsey, ritchie valens, fats domino etc etc
almost two hours or more worth of music
so why did obsidian not do the same?

i hate really hate the music on new vegas
johnny guitar plays every 5 minutes or so or big irons
and on all the stations
same 4-5 songs over and over

i am a hardcoe gamer
and music in a game is very important to me
i love red deads redemption music as well
was fun just to sit on your horse watch the sun rise and listen to the music

FNV is a little bit country, F3 is a little bit rock and roll...

Wish the old music was still in.Theres some great songs in NV, the non radio music is awesome.I miss a couple of old favorites from F3 though.

I think I prefer the music from New Vegas over FO3.

Especially once I heard this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy5THitqPBw

Took me right back to my childhood, must've watched that movie a hundred times. <3 Jessica Rabbit.

I like both but new songs are added the more you play. I plan on adding all the songs from Fo3 and the GNR extender.

F3 had franchise staples like "i don't want to set the word on fire" and "maybe" It felt like a radio that should be in a Fallout game.

NV just tried to get the feel of Vegas and not the feel of Fallout.

NV also has no "Butcher Pete'... that in an of itself is a crime.

I'm playing on console (God forbid, but my PC graphics card sorta fails), and I cannot stand NV music. Three Dog was annoying, but I suppose he's the type of character that you don't realise you miss until you lose him.

So, is there anyway to listen to FO3 music so far?

And if not, I hope they add a new radio that can be found across the Mojave where you can listen to Three Dog chirp his way on about what's been happening on the East coast.

Black Mountain Radio DJ's > Mr. New Vegas. Hahahaha Super Mutant power!

Mr. New Vegas is awesome, though. Love how they got the actual Mr. Vegas himself to play the part!

Overall the songs are kinda blah, but I don't HATE any of the songs this time around, where I kinda disliked a few from FO3. Personally, I've been humming "Heartaches by the Number" the past few days haha.
