Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition on steam. INFINITE LOADI

Post » Thu Jul 26, 2012 6:56 pm

I've been playing for a good 20 hours now, all of a sudden one day I try to press the "continue" button and load my most recent save AND IT JUST GIVES ME AN INFINITE LOADING SCREEN!!!!!! Using just "Load Game" (Instead of the "continue" option) gives the same result as well.

I have tried "verify integrity of game cache" and "Defragment cache files". Did not do fix anything, despite downloading one file that I guess was missing. Didn't fix the problem.

The only way I'm able to get back into my game is to START A NEW GAME and manually load from there - EXTREMELY irritating to do that every time I start up the game.

It's stupid that I have to think of this bizarre solution JUST TO BE ABLE TO PLAY A GAME I PAID FOR.

Does anybody know of a way to get rid of this problem? I'd really prefer to just be able to launch Fallout, press continue, and play the game rather than have to start a new game and load from there every [censored] time.

EDIT: My system has an i7 2600k (Hyperthreading disabled), Nvidia GeForce GTX 590 (SLI enabled), 8gb of RAM... Not sure what else there is.

I tried re-installing New Vegas, didn't help very much. Is this at least a common issue? It would be slightly more comforting to know I'm not the only one who happens to have this problem

I'm afraid that I have never understood why all of the new arrivals all wish to characterize those of us who are already here as superb magicians, gifted with all manner of psychic power. It's just not true. We are just game players, same as you are. Without the usual information, we have nothing to go on, so you are left looking at this equation:

"No data in = No data out". Sorry, but you must do your own part helping us to try to help you.

Not sure what you mean Gorath, could you elaborate on what you need from me?

EDIT: If it helps, I'm using Windows 7 64 bit

EDIT 2: Seriously, guys... This problem is really ruining the game for me :( I'm enjoying it so much otherwise, I would really appreciate any help on making this thing fixed.
