Fallout New Vegas Weapon Mods Poll

I'm on my 3rd playthrough of NV and am using a guns-based character. Just wondering which guns and mods everyone prefers.

I'd prefer more Energy Weapons and Mods for them to be honest. But if anything from Guns i'd say the .50cal, with an actual sniper scope instead of the little magnification it has and something to make it more accurate.

More EVERYTHING. Also, give me a place where I KNOW I can buy mods for a particular type of weapon (Gunrunners for Guns, wherever else for Energy, etc.) rather than have to [censored] around with vendor restocking bull[censored].

^ Took me ages to get a hunting rifle scope.

Add a little request feature where you pay extra money for a special order for a gun, ammo, or mod. It costs more but you don't have to wait 3 days at a time to hope you get what your looking for.

I voted yes on everything really. It'd be nice to have more mods, especially for melee weapons, unarmed, and weapons without any mods at all.

I just wish that you could apply the poisons to your weapons in a more permanent way, similar to a mod

Actually, an idea about mods: class specific rather than weapon specific. Like Rifle Scope can be used for Brush Gun, Trail Carbine, This Machine, Cowboy Repeater etc.

If you're on PC, there's a mod for a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1157565-rel-gun-runners-mail-order-catalog/ that does just this. I think the Kiosk is set in Novak. I haven't tried it, but it sounds pretty well done and very interesting.

Again, this looks like a pretty good mod for those of us on PC, and it also does a lot of animation replacement done by JoeFoss, who is some kind of wizard at animations.

The assult carbine is crapola, it needs to have new mods to make it cool/worth having, or it needs to be re-ampt to not svck in the next patch. 1 of the 2( or both) would do the trick, as is now, it svcks.

All Energy Weapons needs mods.
Especially the lower grade one's.

Laser Pistol should have a mod that increases it's damage twofold that can be bought from Chet for 500 caps, and also one that gives it +x1.0 critical multiplier.
Plasma Pistol should have a mod that increases speed and one that gives a the plasma a "poison" effect.
Recharger Rifle should have a mod that increases it's ammo capacity, one that increases it's rate of fire and one that increases it's damage "slightly".
Plasma Rifle could use a mod that gives -5 DT to each shot and one that increases the clip by +6.
Gauss Rifle could use a mod that decreases it's ammo cost from 5 to 3.
Multiplas needs a mod that decreases it's ammo consumption to 2 per shot. (It needs to have a very high cost though, like 4000 caps minimum.)


And hell, we need mod merchant, another EW merchant (in case one decides to do a certain companions quest.) and a tribal merchant that sells tribal crap exclusively.

Grenade Launcher/Rifle needs a mod that gives more damage.
Grenade Launcher needs a mod that increases it's ammo capacity to 8.
Grenade Machine Gun needs a mod that increases rate of fire and one that increases how far it shoots.

I don't use Guns so I don't know which ones need mods.

i dont see the point of putting things in games such as extended mags, theyre not real, its impossible to fit ANY more bullets into a magazine made for a weapon, unless you get a bigger magazine. Im glad Fallout doesnt have extended mags etc it would make it less real. Id prefer it if you could buy different sized magazines for a weapon.

Could work for Energy Weapons, some kinda mod that refines the energy it takes from the cell and produces the same effect at a lesser cost.
And since Grenade Launcher loads it's grenades directly into the weapon (no magazine) then a mod could be added that changes the weapons built in "magazine" to hold more grenades.

Tri-Beam laser rifle: Beam unifier - Works the opposite of the laser rifle beam splitter, creates one powerfull beam made of three parallel beams.

Infra-red scope - Predator-vision scope.


12.7mm pistol:

Extended mags - Clip carries 10 shots.


Missile Launcher:

Heatseeker mod - Does not work on Scorpions, regular ants, Cazadores, bloatflies (ha ha) or Lakelurks.

This is my wish list, *ahem*

9mm pistol: silencer
marksman carbine: night vision scope (better balaced against the all American)
service rifle: bayonet and a full auto mod
Light machine gun: hardened barrel +0.4 accuracy and Increase weapon condition by 50%.
Riot shotgun: front grip, decreases spread
Combat knife: trench knife mod (like the trench knife from OA).
Assault carbine: silencer

While this is a guns poll. I feel the need to add to the fact that EN needs more mods. The Laser Rifle is wonderful with mods, it's more versatile than the AER14 and conserves ammo better. Until you get the Q-35 the AER14 is a joke.

I would like to see mods for the Multiplasma and Plasma Caster. The firerate on the Multiplasma isn't a big issue, but it's velocity is crap when it's spread somehow got worse after the last patch. The Plasma Caster is inaccurate as all hell.

Not really sure what mods to add for the other weapons. Alien Blaster should get a fire mod to turn it into a Firelance :3.
