Yes you should get the game. Welcome to the Forum.

New Things:

hardcoe Mode that adds, dehydration and the need to sleep. Crippled limbs can't be fixed by sleeping or stimpaks

Damage Threshold so Power Armour is once again Power Armour and not a joke.

Reputation System so the people in the game world for good or ill will know of your actions.

Multiple endings based on your actions. Four main endings.

The ability to join or help almost every faction in the game.

Little to no level scalling so there are enemies greater then your ability to kill.

The game is more advlt then Fallout 3.

More Quests and more unmarked Quests. Companion Quests.

Traits

Ability to make chemicals and cook food.

Ability to make ammo and recharge power cells.

A new hostile creature in the game: Cazadores. They are big and have poison. They are fast and attack in groups.

One of the things I love about NV is all the weapons. And the mods for them. I am NOT a fan of random mod spawning in vendor inventories, but you gotta take the bad with the good.

Just one example of weapon awesomeness:

FO3: Hunting Rifle svcks ass.

New Vegas: Hunting Rifle rocks your ass. Toss in some mods and you have a REAL weapon. Not like that FO3 piece of crap.

Absolutely! I was stubborn with this game at first because its "exploration svcked". Well that was a BS statement. I actually enjoy the exploration, even more since I went to Las Vegas recently. The locations were well done for a limited engine.

You will love everything about it. The conflict was well done. Black and white themes are gone.

Companion recruitment is done to the extreme, featuring mini-quests that help you understand their backgrounds, feelings, and opinions on everyday life.

Multiple endings, not Fallout 3's where it was either you turned on the purifier or someone else did. I mean real endings with different outlooks/consequences that are unleashed upon the wasteland even by the smallest of actions.

It is an "intelligent game", makes you think about the possible future of you decisions.

Shows possible corruption in even the "goodest" (For the lack of a better word) of people.

Has a great recap of past events that are told in different ways through the eyes of different characters.

Animation is better. Weapon mods, iron sights... ect.

Awesome for roleplaying.

Many more features... go and get it bro!

Just remember, it's not like in F3 where you could keep pounding on an enemy until his healthbar was empty.
Here you must sometimes use different ammo types(damage threshold) or tactics(critters moving in packs) etc., so yes it is tough. :vaultboy:

Yes u should get it. It is different than fo3. I don t know what you like so I can t tell you if u will like it more or less, but I can tell you that even if you don t like it as much as fo3 you will still like it.

It is worth it at $65.00 it is most certainly worth it for what the price it is now. If you liked fo3 its not a matter of should you get it, you must get it.

Be sure to play it on the new hardcoe mode, and I would recommend at least hard difficulty level.

Is it worth getting?
Hmm, well, that depends, do you want to get a ridiculously addictive and painfully pleasureable game that will keep you occupied for weeks/months?

Fallout3 was awesome, dont get me wrong, but NewVegas is just so so much more awesome. For one, this time round it's not quite so depressing. I found Fallout3to be quite depressing and dark, whereas NV is brighter, sunnier, less bleak, with a little more hope. I think it's small and completely psychological things like seeing plant growth coming back, and blue skies, and maybe the return of civilization in a more.. civlized manner.

To sum up, yes it's good, and deffinately worth a try!

Yup. Get it. The game's price seems to have dropped considerably.

Pretty much improves on FO3 in most ways. First play through was amazing for me.

IMO there are a few weak aspects to FNV: very few random encounters, not many huge underground dungeons to crawl, limited replay value. I have played through 3-4 times just not as many times of other rpgs.

I'd urge caution. For a lot of F3 players the experience of a game that, while it has similarities, isn't an exact clone of it's predecessor, proves traumatising.

If however you can cope with multi-layered plot, a sunny environment and more real choices give it a go. It's one of the best games I've ever played.

Yes, it is definitely worth getting. However, it's not sure that you will like it as much as Fallout 3. But you will still like it, that's almost for sure.

It's a must if you liked Fallout 3. What I like about New Vegas is it had that classic Fallout feel to it. Also there is no shortage of different kinds of guns to collect, more weapons yield more fun!

I didn't like the story etc as much as Fallout 3, and a lot of the quests are just semi-pointless to-ing and fro-ing. BUT it is fun, and it can last you months if played correctly. Not bad for $20 or such.

If you like Fallout 3, and want more then yes I would geet New Vegas. Maybe I played too much Fallout 3/ New Vegas but I am only level 12 or so, and have stopped playing now. Got sick of the music and Mr New Vegas is so Boring, compared to 3 Dog.

I hate the Calzdors, it's bascially one or two hits you are dead, so it seems so unFallout3ish it ruined the imersion a bit for me. I miss the ruined buildings though. Would be nice if the brought it back in a DLC or some sorts.

Also the map. So many [censored] invisible walls and I am not talking about the borders. In the middle of the the map there is invisible walls, and on the borders where in most cases you can't go to, you feel good, I can't reach it, but when you finally do, they get an invisible wall, when Obsidian not just make it a bit higher so you can't reach is beyond me.

What is it with Bethesda and Obsidian not knowing how to make a computer game that they have to put in invisible walls?

Other than that, I found it a great game.

Prove it then. Tell me which legendary version can you annihilate on Level 3 with nothing but 10MM SMG, because I recall being a complete god in the F3 super-mutant trenches with the exactly same level and loadout. :whistling:

I'll start slapping my knees in the meantime, ta-da. :vaultboy:

Stop making fun of people...

I m not anytime someone says these games are too hard or complain that something killed them I must counter them

This is how games got to be soft, because people cried on devs messege boards for years and no one was there to counter it,because the rest of us were playing the games. Now an even newer gen of gamers is crying for them to be easier again.

They don t know what hard even is.

I think this game was well worth the purchase, the only downside is frame rate drops and LONG loading times in consoles. On PC the game runs perfectly.
