Fallout Noire

So...

Here is my idea, we tell a story (for which ill develop the basic elements and path) about my interpretation of one of the.possible endings of New Vegas.

Briefly...

The Courier was dead set on getting his vengeance against Benny. He went about doing what he had to to locate him and put him out of commission. With Benny dead he found the Platinum Chip and subsequently.found Yes Man. After meeting with Yes Man he asessed his situation and realized that he could fundamentally alter the future of the Mojave.

The story will take.place in a new New Vegas. The Courier came to power after carefully moving through the world gaining allies and eliminating threats (and potential threats). Ill mention a good bit of how he molded the world in the initial post.

New Vegas is thriving but under the neigh total control of The Courier. His Securitrons keep the streets safe from boldfaced attacks and monitor things quite well. Freeside is in slightly better shape as a result of energy being routed to both NV and Freeside. Its now a good bit more dangerous though. The area has power and is very near NV, but it is not protected by the Securitrons, making it a very desirable place to control.

That's the primary basis and where the story will start. My initial post will do a bit more to develop the choices The Courier made and to set a tone.

Tone will primarily be negative really, as fitting with both noire and Fallout. Themes are basically the decision of man to do good or evil, temptations, and Machiavellianism.

Im looking to see if anyone is interested and if anyone has some input on decisions the think a greedy, self centered, god complex Courier might make.

Ill be working on the initial post for some time, im posting this.via cell phone, ill be typing the initial post on my laptop and then, when I get Internet, posting it up.

Think George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, or Aldous Huxley

I like it, though have such a greedy, self centered man might make the story hard to connect to unless you have some kind of hero to counter balance it, and by hero I just mean selfless guy. If this is going to be negative then no one is expecting him to win, then again you may not need a good guy at all it's just hard to pull of an evil guy as the main character unless we really hate him and keep reading in the hopes he will get what he deserved. So entirely plausible. I just traveled full circle and contradicted myself, so please ignore my babble....

....And make the story!

The Courier actually isn't intended as the main character at all. Im just using him to create a setting more conducive to noire. Ill be using the main character's thougts to kind of establish the basics of what has transpired and start up the story. Im hoping to have over-arching story and several smaller ones. If I can get people to join im thinking we can explore as a party and see how the world has changed.

I could almost have used House, but I find it more entertaining to assume that The Courier has made certain decisions so I, and we, can imagine what might have developed were such choices made. A "What If?" scenario.

Part of that is that after I post some hard truths establishing basics id be happy to hear from participants or non-participants what they think might/could/should have happened to different people/factions/settlements.

Also, being that I abhor black and white.story telling, good intentions don't always provide pleasant results and greed can be good.
