If I hate a game I don't go on that games forum at all, ever, yet here some seem to live on here just to be negative. What is the point?

You've missed the point, as many others seem to as well. I don't hate Fallout 4, I've got the platinum trophy, I've bought the season pass, I pre-ordered the pip-boy edition three months before release, and I've put 120 hours into Fallout 4. I DON'T HATE FALLOUT 4.

I actually like it to quite an extent, but that won't stop me from being critical, especially when there's such scope to do so.

You don't have to speak in glowing terms to like something, and a failure to speak in such language isn't tantamount to hatred.

As I've said Fallout 4 is deeply enjoyable, but did I find it to be a special experience? No I didn't, and I don't think fun yet relatively uninspiring games deserve BAFTA's.

To avoid any further conflict, I hope Fallout 4 wins every possible award ever because it's such an undeniably brilliant game. There, now I should blend in with the herd that frequents these forums.

Fair enough, I don't think the game is perfect either, I've listed many things I'd like or want changed about the game. I've not played since the survival/dlc announcement I'm waiting on them because they will improve the game a lot.

See, but the vast majority of your posts are negative. It's always colored by some kind of disappointment. Most of my posts and others aren't glowing praise, we're just talking about the game and our experiences with it, you only seem motivated to post about its shortcomings.

And for what it's worth, I do think Fallout 4 does a lot of things that I hope other devs take hints from, and it's a huge step forward for Bethesda and the types of games they make. It's Bethesda's best story, my favorite character/leveling system of any action RPG I've played, and I love the crafting system for making almost every weapon and armor useful and customizable at any point in the game - every bit of junk having purpose is a nice bonus. I'm not sure how other RPGs can incorporate workshop settlement mechanics, but I love it and think it fits in perfectly with roleplaying in Fallout 4. Not every game has to be, or even can be, utterly groundbreaking and innovative - but if that mattered, would the Witcher 3 (which by all accounts doesn't tread a lot of new ground for RPGs, but does it all very well) be taking the lion's share of awards this year?
