The nomination is unsurprising as Fallout 4 is a great game.
BAFTA's record on who wins is a little more hit and miss.
In recent years they picked 'the Last of Us' and 'Dishonored' for the BAFTA.
But they also went for 'Destiny' as the best game of 2014
and picked 'Portal 2' over Skyrim.
So the BAFTA winner carries some prestige, but also should be taken with a truckload of salt...
I think it will win, CDPR stopped paying for awards after the Spike TGA's ones.
not surprising. TW3 has done well, but FO4 has been right up there with it. hands down they are the 2 best games of this year.
What I see is that this will be another fight round for Morsalt Kombat between Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 communities.
I didn't give much for these post apocalyptic games. The atmospheres are simply too discouraging and generally boring. But I must admit that Fallout 4 has caught my attention. I am not quite aware of what did it though. Maybe because I played Skyrim a lot and find it cozy and familiar?
I must admit that Fallout 4 is a great game. And I also think that it deserves a reward of a kind. Theree's so many hours spend in developing this game full of unexpected features. It also gives you a feeling of 'life' which is essential if you have to believe in such a world.
I honestly hope this is just about Fallout 4 and not a bunch of Witcher trying to justify their game once again. It happened with DAI and Witcher 3, and now Witcher 3 vs Fallout 4, you don't see other game [censored] trying to put down other games to make theri game sound better. You don't see DAI vs Fallout 4 or some other comparisons like that. Just be happy for whoever wins instead of crapping over all the other games. IGN already filled with Witcher is da best!!!!!, Fallout 4, Bloodborne, etc svckz.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts gives out awards for video games? I had no idea.
Not to be a downer, but they're not giving it out based on game story line, are they? Because ex-military guy hunting down their kidnapped child isn't exactly groundbreaking.
Well... "seek argument and disputation; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence". I won't miss a chance to be critical towards unsatisfactory things, so no, I couldn't resist
While I'm mid-philippic, I may as well take the chance to say I hope Fallout 4 doesn't win the BAFTA award, not because Fallout 4 isn't a good game -- it certainly is -- but Fallout 4 isn't a special game, it's not a game that has moved me like other Fallout games have. Fallout 4 is uninspiring fun in a sea of equally enjoyable and iterative experiences. I want something inspiring to win the Bafta award; poignant experiences such as those in Life is Strange, not the conservative soup of mechanics that Bethesda has spunked out, that has barely progressed Fallout forward never mind gaming as a whole.
personally i dont think the game is that great but also its ofcourse only up against the games of that year
i mean its not great but it isnt terrible either
i only own 3 games for my bone witcher 3, fallout 4 and state of decay
both state of decay and witcher 3 are better games in my opinion, but state of decay is an arcade title from the 360 thats been remastered for the bone and that was 2014 anyway i think? i cant comment on the other games of 2015 as i dont have any of them
the music is fantastic though, really enjoy the atmospheric score, dont like the radio music except the classical which is great but the atmospheric and background score is incredible
fallout shelter i like
i haaaaate mobile games (i cant stress that enough) and dont have a single one on my phone yet if they had a windows phone version i would get it. i play it on a friends every so often instead, so personally i think this should get it for mobiles
Fallout 4's been getting a lot of awards, despite the white noise that always surrounds what Bethesda releases. Every game since Morrowind has gotten a giant bundle of them, and im sure a lot of people can recall the comments that Morrowind got in 2002.
When Morrowind was new it got the exact same white noise of "Its a dumbed down game for console casuals!" and "Its not a RPG, not at all!" and "It's the buggiest game that ive ever played, Bethesda doesn't care!"
What exactly makes saying that stuff about Fallout 4 different? Morrowind is now regarded as one of the best TES games out there, after breaking sales records and getting massive amounts of awards. With Fallout 4 getting the exact same sales and awards, are you just super certain that this is actually the real deal, that this game is just so universally awful that its going to destroy Bethesda in a perverse fantasy of blood and fire?
That's all you got from that? No counterpoint, no alternative argument, or sentiments of agreement, just an empty borderline-insult?
Diversity of opinion is fine until one disagrees with an opinion, or so it seems.
My point still stands, do we really want uninspiring fun winning BAFTA awards?
Granted not everyone would agree that Fallout 4 is uninspiring fun, but it's definitely a prominent opinion.
