a novel ABOUT the lore.

not about any existing game.........

have you not read any video game novel ?

the halo novel didn't talk about halo 1 , 2 ,3

they were about befor the first halo.

im talking about novel set in the fallout universe.
that are canon.

I don't really think it could work that well.

I'd probably read it if one was made, but only for the lore.

I'd rather read a book that the author wanted to write and not one a company asked them to write

If you just interested in a fallout themed novel as said earlier read The Road. It is an amazing book, a little dark but in my opinion it had to be to be realistic. It's pretty heart wrenching though.

If you mean a novel by Bethesda, then no.

I'd prefer Bethesda work on TES V or Fallout 4 instead of writing novels.

Any other books about the Post-Aplocalyptic genre?

I highly recommend "A Canticle for Liebowitz". It's one of my favorite books. It's also one of, if not the first nuclear post-apocalyptic book.

It takes place over three time periods as mankind rebuilds itself from a nuclear war.

It's very funny in places and very sad and though provoking in others. And I think extremely well written.

Yes, I would love such a novel. I greatly enjoyed the TES-novel, and books would shorten the wait between games - and expand on the lore. I find it awesome to curl up on my couch with a cup of coffee in my hand and enjoy the quietness of a book - and still be immersed into some of my favourite fictional universes.

I don't know whether I'd like a Fallout novel but I'd probably read it. I ought to see if I can find a physical copy of the original Fallout 1 manual as I loved the detail and storytelling in the F2 one.

umm what?

Anyways, I think if theres a decent artist out there that wants to do a fallout novel, that would be great. I recently read the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Postman and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't believe all the negativity against a fallout novel!

I hated (well, mabey not hated...) the TES novel, so I would be skeptical of a Fallout novel. However, I would read it.

I like the idea of more story from the Fallout universe, and would generally take it in whatever form I could, however I have to admit that I would be skeptical about a Fallout novel. Not because I think it couldn't be done, but because I think a lot of time and effort would need to be put into it to ensure it's done right.

But in the absence of a Fallout novel, I've tried to find other post-apocalyptic writing to fill the void. The Road is one of the best I've read by far, but another series of novels I'm been tempted to check out is the Deathlands series by James Axler. Has anyone read any of these books, or have another post-apocalyptic novel to suggest?

I honestly didn't know The Postman was a novel until 'lazer asian' mentioned it. I wasn't a huge fan of the movie, but a novel might be a whole other story (no pun intended)!
