Fallout 4 Official Launch Trailer

Post » Mon Dec 07, 2015 4:41 pm

Watched the trailer several times, stopping at the various scenes.

Looks like some pretty cool places to explore

- Lots of wasteland

- Floating towns

- Warring factions

- Huge Downtown area with Skyscraqers

- Building your own settlement to run

- Diamond City in Fenway park

- A Flying Fortress (maybe more than one)

- Various towns outside of Boston

- The institute (deep underground?)

- Radioactive areas requiring protection

- Huge selection of weapons with almost endless customization

- and lots more.

All this in a 3 minute trailer, and I am sure there are tons of places to explore not even touched on yet.

Have been playing Bethesda games since Morrowind, and have never been disappointed. I am sure Fallout will give me just as much fun over the coming months (if not more).

Look forward to next Tuesday.

That poor bastard pleading for his life was a strong scene.

Anyone know if you'll be able to get a hair cut / re-edit your PC's head? in game.

not really, more like over used VA who voiced 2 fifths of the female cast in skyrim just like how the VA for half the male cast was the guy who voiced the protagonist in the thief series.

i got so sick of hearing her voice that i could not stand to level a female norn in guild wars 2 because i played so much skyrim

I for one would be blown away if I came back to the traps and found a giant mutant mudcrab that looks like a monster from lovecraft. Even better would be a posh talking mudcrab who would try to sell me expensive wares.

Oh, I was just quoting Thane's VA in the trailer (@2:17)

"Haven't you been paying attention...you don't find the Institute. The Institute finds you."

Example; The Original Star Wars Trilogy.

In most cases... I don't want a complicated moral ambiguity in my video games. I get enough of that in real life.

To me game looks similar to New Vegas you have the Institute obviously bad guys(like The Legion). But then you have The Brotherhood, The Minutemen and the Railroad.

(House, NCR, Independent). Neither of the later three factions are necessarily bad guys but they have different ideals about what would be better for Boston so they'll come into conflict. Though I suspect the Railroad are a more of a minor faction like the Brotherhood were in NV. In that destroying them is necessary to complete the end game but its possible to broker peace between them and at least one faction.

This has got me feeling like I just want to go to sleep and not wake up until the 10th. It's been a damned long time since I've felt this excited about a game.

"Haven't you been paying attention? You don't find the Institute; the Institute finds you." OK, I'm primed and waiting for the "Preload" button to appear.

Well said. I've pretty much had my fill of moral ambiguity and dark fantasy crap in entertainment. It's pure $#!+ in an entertainment medium as far as I'm concerned. I play to be a hero and escape RL for long periods at a time. I'm old, I spent 20 + years in the military, and I've been to war. I've more than had my fill. I really don't have a lot in common with those who want complicated, amoral mazes to traverse in their entertainment.

Like what most others have said...Nice Azz!

As for story being too much of good vs evil, I wouldn't worry about it.

Seeing how they did some of Skyrim's quest (Sadia quest comes to mind) bethesda quests will make you think who is right and who is wrong.

I can't understand what the last thing Piper is saying, "This is ridiculous! I want the truth [...]". Around the 1:22 mark. All i hear is "I want the truth mickdunna"

I'm too distracted by her weird ass mouth movements to pay attention to what she is saying.. She reminds me of that annoying reporter from mass effect.

What if the SS's name was McDonald and more people than Codsworth actually said the PC name, probably just wishful thinking though.

She said an Irish name which was McDonough, which is pronounced as MAC- DUN -A, here in Ireland. Expect lots more complicated Irish names due to it being in Boston lol.

Maybe that does mean other NPC's say your character name, as it had cinematic player dialogue camera point of view when it was on Piper.
