fallout 3 online

Post » Mon Dec 07, 2009 1:48 pm

i got an idea for a fallout online it was like a trading market so they made a few places in fallout (like rivet city) online and when you go online you could set up a shop like thing and sell your unwanted items for caps or trade one thing for another i got this idea when i was trying to get rid of loads of stuff i did not want but there was no traders around that could give me the caps for it. does any 1 else think it could be a good idea? or mybe even just having some places for deathmatches and capture the flags and stuff? or even Operation: Anchorage online

No, just no. Fallout 3 has no code set up for any kind of online interaction and would require a lot of work that would be better used for Elder Scrolls 5 and Fallout 4.

However, a Fallout mmorpg is underdevelopement at the hands of Interplay. Interplay currently holds the rights for any kind of online game, though if they don't produce something within a certain time span the rights apparently move back to Bethesda who purchased them outright a few years back.

It is under development, but so far there has been very little info. Interplay are keeping things under their belts.

I've said in many of the other FO3 online threads and I'll say in this one that the idea of Fallout 3 as an MMO seems like an awful one to me. I don't like MMOs as it is but crowbaring them in to a game about isolation and the singleplayer RPG experience? No. Just no.

I'd buy, but I don't want it to be turn by turn (like RuneScape :yuck: ).

I recently played saints row 2 and fable. Why not just load up the other persons char in the hosts game. At least make it a little co-op. (heres to fallout 4 :D)
I have heard so many people wanting a multiplayer area. Most only want to be able to play with friends. Think of the epic fights between friends. One blows up megaton while the other stays in it.
It may be impossible but one can dream :)

I have grave reservations about FOOL. But....on the other hand, they do have Anderson and Taylor on board (kinda curious that they would agree to work with Interplay again lol....or maybe they love their creation that much that dealing with Interplay was an acceptable evil :P)

Might be more fun to just set up shop anywhere in the wastes...under a bridge, etc.
