Factions

The Brotherhood of Steel

The Brotherhood of Steel is the remnants of the soldiers, scientists and military officers of the US who hid in Mariposa Military Base during the Great War. Captain Roger Maxson was the one who took control of the military base, after the nuclear fallout calmed down; Maxson led his people out of the base and headed west to the Lost Hills bunker.

The Brotherhood collects pre-war technology, for example power armour and laser and plasma weapons.

The members of the Brotherhood who traveled to the Capital Wasteland were sent there for the purpose of collecting the pre-war technology that would be found in DC. But the east coast of the wastes was home to bands of super mutants, the Brotherhood didn’t know where they came from, were they apart of the Master’s army? There leader became obsessed with this.

The Enclave
The Enclave is directly descended from the US government and military industrial complexes. They believe themselves to be the rightful rulers of the wastelands, most members also see the people of the wastes as nothing more than mutants who only deserve death.

The Enclave sports its troops with advanced power armour and laser rifles. They also use Vertibirds for transportation.

After the Enclave was defeated on the west coast they managed to get to the east coast where they hid in Raven Rock, after the death of their last president the Enclave elected a new one John Henry Eden. There in Raven Rock the Enclave hides waiting the time when they will take over the Capital Wasteland.

Raiders
Out of all the people of the wastes raiders are the worst, the one thing they all have in common is that they love to kill whether it be an innocent wastelander or an evil mercenary. They roam the wastes pillaging and killing all who stand in their way.

Raiders typically use basic armour and pre-war weapons like the assault rifle and missile launcher.

Talon Company

Talon Company is a mercenary group who operate in the Capital Wasteland; their HQ is at Fort Bannister. They are primarily bounty hunters but in the DC area they do battle with the super mutants. As mercenaries go the Talon Company is vicious, probably more vicious than raiders. They will go as far a killing anyone who doesn’t have their emblem. It’s possible that they work for a group called Littlehorn and Associates who have similar goals.

Talon Company mercenaries wear combat armour and have many different weapons.

Slavers
Slavers are all over the wasteland from California to DC. They are similar to raiders but are a bit more civilized; they capture people and sell them to the highest bidder. They place collars on their slaves, so if the slave escapes and runs off the slaver just needs to press a button and the collar detonates killing the slave. In the Capital Wasteland the slavers are set up at Paradise Falls.

Slavers use many different types of armour and weapons.

Outcasts
As it’s stated in the Brotherhood of Steel entry, the Brotherhood was sent to the east coast to salvage pre-war technology. But as the Brotherhood set a base at the Pentagon which was renamed the Citadel, they encountered super mutants. The elder of the Brotherhood became obsessed with finding information about the super mutants. Although the majority of the Brotherhood followed their elder there were some that thought by worrying about the mutants that they were abandoning their original mission. So one day a small part of the Brotherhood left the Citadel and they renamed themselves the Outcasts.

The Outcasts wear power armour that they have painted black and red, they use the same weapons as the brotherhood.

The Outcasts have their HQ at Fort Independence; they continue their original mission of finding pre-war technology.

The thing about this is, its too stale. Compared to other active and not active RP's in these forums, you have your work cut out for you. This doesn't cut it. It doesn't have a clear plot or conflict, and if you imagine what would happen if we were to kick this off. No one would know what to do or where to go. On top of that, we all know about the Brotherhood and the Outcasts and the Enclave, so we need something different because something like this has been done before . . . in the game. Im sorry to be harsh, and I'm not saying you can't do this, but you need to brainstorm a little bit more before you open this to the world.

thanks for the criticism, yeah I think I need to add more information and that. But remember I put a poll up to ask if it should be RP or fanfic. So far 50 50

Also I have the factions what else should I add.

Oh crap, I didn't even pay attention to the voting tablet above. I think you should definitely do it as an RP, at least first. I recommend this to anyone who is new to the forums or who hasn't done and RP yet. It would make the most sense to make your own story and get your writing and organization style together before trying to write a story with other people. RP's are about work vs. reward. Although you might think its easier to write a story with someone, its actually harder due to what you have to manage, how you need to tell your story and stay up to par with how much it moves. That workload is double when you are the starter of the RP.

In terms of what you should add, I'd say look at a couple that have been done like http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1151060-the-warren-rp/page__st__180__p__17088610__hl__the+warren__fromsearch__1#entry17088610, New Manhattan and most originally orchestrated, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1144541-true-to-caesar/page__st__140__p__17359517__hl__true+to+caesar__fromsearch__1#entry17359517. These are all good examples or RP's that were well executed from the beginning.

Sorry, I posted this thinking I was done by accident :blush2:

I vote for Fanfic because the whole Enclave, BoS, Outcast thing has become quite trite. I'm not saying I'm not up for anything with BoS, Encalve, Outcast in it, only if it follows the typical pattern of one of those RP's: You forced to join one side and fight a war against two other factions, there's constant battling and you move around quite a bit(typically doesn't last long). Or the other one: You can join any side as it struggles to gain control of the Capital Wasteland(even shorter life-span). Either one is quite typical and unoriginal, but I guess with this little information, you could make whatever you wanted it to be.

So in short I would prefer a fanfic.
