Fallout 4 Pipboy Edition Ingame Bonuses?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:18 am

So this is the question that I've had for a while, but I let it go until just recently when I saw an interesting blurb on the Prima guide's collector's edition book on Bethesda's store.

Having read that, I perked back up again on this issue after having long concluded that all bonuses were physical real world goodies.

No matter where I scour, I cannot confirm that the CE has any ingame bonuses at all.

I can't even find evidence of anyone asking the question, much less discussing it.

Everywhere you go, all they ever talk about is how awesome the RL Pipboy is.

But then maybe my Google-Fu is lacking.

So I've opted to come here and ask if anyone knows anything about ingame bonuses.

Not for the other retail copies, just the CE.

For my own part, I have the PC CE or order.

I don't know if the different platforms have different bonuses or if any have any at all.

There is a official picture which shows of and lists the pip boy editions content, none of them as far as I recall is in game, besides the pip boy itself there is a mini guide, a stand for your pip boy and a poster of the in game perk chart

I don't recall this survival guide being in the Pip Boy edition. Yet, it says it's only in the Collector's edition. So uh, I'm rather confused.

I can't imagine there would be any in-game content that isn't available to everyone (or will eventually be unlocked anyway).

Yeah but that's not really a list though, right?

That's just the contents of the box splayed out with labels.

You can't display the virtual stuff.

Right, the guide's not in the box.

That's a Prima guide that assists with ingame content.

And it includes the CE's exclusive bonuses.

Logically, that should be ingame bonuses.

Yes you can, its called a text box where you tell if there is any in game stuff, and no text box kinda means there isn't.

Or it just means it comes with the poster and the quick guide, both you could easly put in a box together with the big guide.

The guide is referring to itself as a collectors edition.

Serious lack of reeding comprehenshun in this thread.

Ehhh, you're prolly right.

If there was any bonuses, I'm sure they would have mentioned it.

And I've seen plenty of inaccurately worded phrasing on Bethesda's store anyway.

Either way, guess we'll all know for sure Nov 10th.

Ah yes, that must be it.

But there's no need to be rude about it.

yeah, it probably refers to itself as containing tips or high res images or what not that will not be included in the "non collectors edtion" of the guide.

anyway. that guide will be outdated by patch 1 (or even day one patch) and will contain less information than any FO 4 wiki by december. if you want to invest in any book, try to get an artwork book. guide with boring cover with a collectors edition where they don't even show the pictures and layout from the inside? yeah, have fun with that

Bethesda just announced they are teaming up Loot Crate. No other details yet. Nothing in-game I would suspect but does mean they have more of a marketing plan to unveil.

I've pre-ordered the Pip-Boy edition and haven't heard of any in-game extras. I hope there aren't any, either.

So is the Collector's Edition different from the Pip-Boy edition? I'm ever so slightly perplexed.

I think exclusive bonuses just refers to content in the guide. I'd like to see some nice in-game content associated with the Pip-boy edition, or perhaps another special edition, but I don't think they're going to be doing anything like that. Which is fine, too.

Bethesda please don't pull a Ubisoft and require us to use a spreadsheet to figure out which edition we should get...

There is no Collector's Edition game, just a Collector's Edition Prima Guide.

I just misread the meaning of the wording.

So basically the CE Guide has exclusive stuff that the regular guide doesn't.

I'm just so used to referencing the releases as CE's that that's what I immediately thought it was.

Wasn't that just the biggest fail ever?

Man oh man.

When Watchdogs II comes out, I'm buying a regular edition and the Season Pass, and that should have virtually everything.

Assuming they change the rules up all again.

I think I must have paid somewhere between $90 and $100 for Watchdogs by the time I was done buying the pieces.

But I was ok with buying the Season Pass last (to get Bad Blood) because then I'd get all the future DLCs effectivley for free.

Except there were no more! Ugh. Well, at least Bad Blood was totally awesome.

Just collectors edition booky stuff.. like in other collectors edition guides. There's usually some artwork and other stuff in the back of the book and they of course count the hardcover as being part of that as well.

Hope it has it's own built in bookmarks like the Skyrim one did. That was actually amazingly helpful.

i do not think bethesda would be so bold as to do this

not only is this a much hated buisiness practice done by some other publishers , it would also damage their reputation they still trying to repolish after the mods for money debacle a few months ago

second why should they do this if the game is as good as its looks and plays as good they would have no need for this sort of practice , they probaly sell more copies of this game in the first few months than fallout 3 ever sold

At the Game.co.uk site the first sentence of the description says....

... but I think that refers to bonuses found in Collector's edition of the guide as opposed to the collector's edition of the game. Why? Because the guide's title that includes the above quote is the "Fallout 4 Vault Dweller's Survival Guide Collector's Edition".

Basically the collector's edition of the guide is the hardback edition. You get a link to the digital edition that has extras and links to the DLC info too. I tend to get them for games where I miss out on stuff when the game is a huge open world. I tend to like paging through the book while in bed (I've got ipads and iphones and Hudl pads and about five Kindles but sometimes looking through a real book at times beats digital).
