I am not saying.
Male, 31, playing on PC.
Started with Sega and Gameboy in the early 90s.^^
44 - male - UK ......
Ready with a loaded fatman to nuke my settlers as they are always unhappy!!!!
Male, 24, Pc.
First experiences with Beth's titles been Morrowind and FO3, was younger tho and my english was probabily not good enough to even handle the registration on these boards
Got quite flashed from FO titles as i particularly love anything-postnuclear-related and i loved the feeling of getting short on ammos, stimps etc at early phase of the game, and still going through.
I'm not sure how many will vote in the Fallout forum but many members are in the 40+ club and are PC players. I'm in the 29-35 group and play on Xbox because I'm made poor by providing for other people. (boo to you selfish single people with top notch PC's)
Ah well, I had 6 kids spread over 4 wives. I not only supported my kids and my wives, I put the wive's lawyer's kids through college too... Now I'm old and sorta single and I have a very good PC, so boo right back at ya!
One is never too old to have a happy childhood.
4 wives, 6 kids and you reached old age???
pfft that's easy
(I hope you guys can read the sarcastic humor here, the smileys should say it all)
I don't know why the myth of top end riggs still exists. My rig did cost 350 and another 126 for a graphics card and I can play FO4 just fine at medium settings. Last I checked an xbox doesn't come cheaper.
I got my Xbox One bundle with 2 games for $125...if it wasn't for that great deal then I'd probably still be playing my last gen consoles. $500 is reasonable for a decent rig but it's still more expensive and in a year or 2 it will probably need upgrading to play a new game at the time whereas my Xbox will play new games as long as it works.
Well, I DID experience Sudden Death Syndrome in 1996...
Yeah, I gave $500 for my 'puter, and it plays FO4 on high settings with no problem. You can get x-box cheaper, but not a new X-Box one.
See, that's another common mistake, since game companies don't cater to PC anymore as their primary platform. This generation of consoles will be the standard for most games to come until a new generation hits the market. So I'm not overly concerned about having to upgrade.
The advantage the PC offers over consoles is the ability to tweak and mod your games as you like, whereas with consoles, the hardware company decides if moddng is allowed and what mods are acceptable for their platform.
Male, age 31... Fallout OG... Fallout 1 on PC was the first game I ever really delved into. Used to stay up at night reading the strategy guide when I couldn't play. ( I was only 13, so it's not as sad as it sounds....)
Maybe those of us on PC should list our motherboard socket types so they can get in on the action too. Wouldn't want any unexpected compatibility issues on the first date
44. Male.
Started out on a TI 99/4A home computer with Speech Module. Ooo baby! I think it had a whopping 16k of memory? Loved Parsec and writing my own animated scenes. They call them GIF's now, but back then you had to write them line by line. Then it snowballed from there and I got in to PC's.
I got out of gaming altogether directly because of Steam (spit). I bought a PS3 because according to everything I read, it played Blu Ray's better than anything on the market. I got it free with my reward points on my credit card so the wife didn't hassle me too much about buying this huge black thing just to watch movies.
I made the mistake of renting a game one time while I was at the video rental place in town. I rented Half Life Orange Box (I think that's what it's called?). I loved and hated it. Couldn't hit anything to save my life because I was so used to a mouse, but it was nice that I didn't have to deal with Steam (spit). I even tried to hack my PS3 so I could use a mouse and keyboard but could never get it to work. To this day I have to play games on the easiest setting because I've never been able to master the sticks on a controller. Fallout is the only one I can play on Normal because of VATS but even with that I have the stick sensitivity turned all the way down.
I also wanted to say that I think this is a great forum with a lot of really nice people. Far better than most. I'm also a musician and do a lot of recording in my home studio. You want to talk about testosterone fueled flame wars, go to Gear[censored]z, or any one of the big DAW (digital audio workstation) forums. Cakewalk's Sonar forum is about the worst I've ever seen, second maybe only to Gear[censored]z.
Really now.... *Channels Joey from Friends* How YOU doin'?

I'm proud to admit that I am a female video game player and enjoy games such as FO4.
