Fallout 3's plot a bit infantile compared to Fallout:NV's pl

Don't you guys think that the plot of Fallout 3 seems a bit like a boy's story? Daddy goes missing, son goes on epic quest to find daddy, finds out about utopian plan of daddy. Daddy dies by the hand of an [censored] antagonist, now our hero has to save the utopian water project and avenge daddy. And in the end, (probably) everything is gonna be alright, everybody has clean water, and the son is the hero of the day.

Now the plot of Fallout:NV. You get shot in the head at the start of the game by a mobster and his hired muscles. You proceed to follow him through the entire Mojave Wasteland to kill this son of a [censored], but when you arrive in New Vegas, you're thrown into the political infighting, and in the end you decide the fate of many nations and people.

A bit of a difference, not? What's your opinion on this?

Well, yeah. Bethesda has a bit of a weakness in the writing department, especially when compared to the writing from Obsidian.

Bethesda's stories are, generally, pretty poor. It's not just the content, though, it's the laziness. FO3's main plot is absolutely riddled with plot holes that it basically farce. Not to mention it employs deux ex machina, which is just about the worst narrative device and is the pinnacle of bad storytelling.

I could go on all day ranting about FO3's story. It's simply terrible, and somehow BS made it even worse.

(imho)

FO3 pokes and pulls at the stomach and heart energy centres, inciting instincts as a means of motivation; to force the player character to connect with the story (albeit on an almost subliminal level).

FNV is a higher frequency affair. The storylines tend to initiate the centres of logic and reason to motivate us. Ergo, without logic and rationale (morals, ethics, constitution...ect), essentially - without thinking about it, FO3 will be more engaging to a person - regardless of actual qualities.

Some people just don't get FNV' vibe... it goes WHOOSH right over their heads. Entire concepts found in FNV are topics that those types of gamer never have and perhaps never will contemplate. It just isn't in their psyche.

put simply:

FO3 is 'animalistic' (base instincts: breed, feed, fight)

FNV is 'ascended' (higher nature: communication, insight, morality)

Some peoples energy flows primarily in the lower nature. It is uncomfortable and seemingly unrewarding for them to raise above that. Others are only happy in high levels of consciousness.
This is how I see the situation. I feel it explains why a certain 'breed' enjoys one or the other... (I doubt is as clear cut as this but, generally speaking. imo)
^This is a post I recently presented in regards to the topic in question.

BTW - I chased Benny to get the chip back...
