I've played the game up until the first time you meet codsworth. No issues here.

Hey Guys.

So i played about 5 hours now and i can confirm the problems.

The game runs smooth as long as you just walk around and explore, but if you enter combat you'll see horrible frame drops.

Especially if you get hit/shot or try to fight more then 1 target at once.

The fps also drops if you have to load a new area but only for a short time which is absolutly acceptable for me.

I think these issues can be solved by patches.

Totally disappointed. During combats it's unacceptable to have those frame drops I'm experimenting. Making the game almost unplayable. I'm returning it back to the game stores and picking up another game.

Confirm. There is a big problem with fps, especially inside buildings during battles with several enemies. it feels like 20 fps in some moments. Digital foundry made a performance review on eurogamer.net and it demonstrated that the both consoles suffer from constant fps drops...Funny. Pete Hines said "it's solid 30 fps". Yeah, "very" solid

I've had the occasional very minor jitter, but nothing major enough to effect gameplay. Some people imo are blowing this issue way out of proportion.

oh and the thing with the scope, the only time you get any slow down is if you use the "hold breath (L3)" feature.

shadowwraith666 Want to know how does it affect gameplay? Take shotgun, find a couple of ghouls and try to kill them without VATS. You will see the problem then. The most of fps drops occur when there are many alpha-effects on the screen(blood, smoke, dust etc) and in such moments it's 20FPS. The game got terrible userscore on metacritic because of this mostly. Of course there are some "hate everything 0 mark die die die" people, but this doesn't prevent other games from getting adequate scores. So it means something

i did the battle inside the museum in concord and that was smooth.

was smooth in the deathclaw fight outside aswell

its like people see one place anolyzing the framerate then instantly think their game is doing the same at all times, without actually anolysing, or being able to anolyze, it themselves.

thats called mass suggestion. 'your game runs bad' said enough times, and people will think and see that their game runs bad. even if it doesnt, or its not perceivable.

ive fought ghouls.. with and without shotguns and the game runs fine.

because digital foundry has said so and you clearly watched the video showing so ( and so many people have quoted and said so) everyone now sees framerate drops where there possibly arent any, and they certainly cant anolyze it to see for themselves.

I don't know what's wrong with you (me?) people. Yes, DF videos show drops, but I'm judging from my own experience. I've been playing on pc for years and I always notice it when a game looses every single frame. On pc you can manipulate graphic settings to make a game run smoother and on consoles you can't do it. There is a big difference between 30 and 25 fps though it's not crucial, but low 20s is an unplayable mess in a shooter game. Bad performance is a fact, not only DF mentioned it. When you pay your money for a product you have the full right to expect high quality. Of course some patches will come later. But the problem is in the ancient Gamebryo(Creation) engine powering this game. It's out of date completely. The game itself is good but denying the issues it has - is stupid(if you are not Bethesda's PR specialist, lol) . I'm very happy for people who do not notice glitches and bad framerate. I wish I was one of them. For me stable gameplay is important, constant glitches and drops destroy all immersion.

Also want to say THANK YOU!!! Bethesda for a great game. After last year DA:I I thought I would abandon gaming. But Bethesda and some other studios make me enjoy games again. This year is brilliant(FO4, TW3, BB). So thank you Bethesda again...but your programmers should do their work better)

I havent noticed any problems, I'm starting to think its just trolls editing their videos to look like lower framerate, I definetly don't go down to 5fps when scoping <_<
