Hi. I was wondering if you pre-ordered Fallout 4 somewhere else than Steam, would you still get a Steam activation code? Let's say I pre-order a special edition of Fallout 4 of some sorts for PC, but would it contain a Steam activation code of sorts? Has Bethesda ever done this with other games?

If you ordered from a place like greenmangaming they give you the code on the day of release.

I don't think you can play Fallout 4 on PC without Steam. I was pretty surprised that it wasn't optional when I pre-ordered BL:TPS, so I guess it's going to be like that from then.

Retail copies will probably have an activation code, yes. You'll also have the disc, so installation should be faster than steam download (then again you can pre-load with steam.)

They did the same thing with Skyrim.
