Nope, no prequels, and no, Elder Scrolls has nothing to do with Fallout other than being done by the same developer as Fallout 3. Though they are excellent games that are well worth playing in their own right.

Still, between 1,2,3 and New Vegas you should have enough to keep you playing solidly for months if not years.

I recomend wasteland while its dated and not technically the same universe as fallout you'll see lot of references to it in fallout. there is also the kinda but not really sequal to wasteland called "fountain of dreams" by EA. I haven't' played it but its not made by the same people so its not really an actual sequal. Reminds me of the day of the dead 2 that was marked as a sequal but wasn't god I want to pluck my eyes out.

but if you want more of what fallout 3 and new vegas offers gameplay wise then you should check out the elder scrolls series but its not for everyone.

I should also mention theres 2 other fallout games. fallout tactics where you control a squad of Brotherhood of steel.
and then theres the fallout: brotherhood of steel....stay away from this game its not connected to the series and is generally not considered canon.

Generally I'm not a graphics snob but playing wasteland is too much of a step back for me, sad to say. There is a wonderful little PS2/Xbox 1 game called "brotherhood of steel" and I highly recommend you check it out. For a laugh. Actually don't check it out because you'll be so horrified who knows what your reaction will be

not exactly it was orginally marketed as a sequal but in the end it was denied by everyone and even EA and the fans desided not to call it a sequal. A better example would be fallout brotherhood of steel.

I also forgot to mention in my post that there is one thing that is a prequal to fallout's games. the tech demo for van buren. it takes place when the bombs are falling. I don't know if anyone or if bethesda considers it canon.

Arcanum has a Brahmin in a museum. When I was a kid and played it I always kind of imagined Arcanum took place in the Fallout universe but several thousands years after Fallout 2, like a new genesis or something.

The good news is, is that Brian Fargo (As in Brian Fargo and Interplay present: Fallout) has regained the IP to Wasteland, and hopes to make a true sequel.

It has a Common Link (Tim Cain IIRC)
