Fallout 4's E3 presentation. How will it go? [merged]

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:27 am

The amount of time Fallout 4 has been in development, as well as the overall level of detail in the trailer, suggests that it should almost be job done. October 23rd has very obvious significance, so I'm guessing this will be announced as the release date.

Yeah I'm of that opinion of the release date too, was only joking around. I haven't yet got Xbox One or ps4 yet but this and arkham knight have finally pushed me. A quality PC gaming rig would be the best choice but I'm not really in a financial position to justify it at the moment... no doubt good mods will further encourage me, it's at times like this why I question myself about why I had to have kids :P

I'm sure you'll be losing plenty of sleep playing Fallout 4 no matter what platform you end up using, just like I know I will. And I have a feeling that the number of "too ill to come in today, cough, cough" phone calls around the globe will go through the roof when this is released!

Lol yeah I'm sure it will. I am going to try and force myself to play right to the end on my first play though, my restartitis is gradually worse with every fallout that's released.

Reminds me of staying up late, or going bed early and getting up, to watch WWF pay per views. Ah memories.

Man, for those who though the hype was not real, just take a look at all the people on twitch...

If it is an October release date, I'm thinking it will be on the 27th, given it is the Tuesday nearest to the 23rd.

I expect to be blown away. I mean, it IS Fallout! The only ones that would not be blown away are the sticks-in-the-mud. Joking about that last part, but seriously excited and feel like this will be a solid game.

Bethesda showed with Skyrim that they don't care about the Tuesday game release things most other devs do.

What's with the Tuesday-Friday thing anyway? Never understood the point of it.

Todd Howard walks on stage, holding a copy of Fallout 4, and fans tear his flesh asunder to get it.

It will probably go this way.

They present stuff

[censored] go wild.

I'll watch it, but E3 seems to be a place for fans to be fed lies.

Hopefully they will show some gameplay. We'll see though.

Wow, they cencored really devoted fan, that would be a young fan of the male gender. in case people were wondering what I was writing.

True. That seemed like more a marketing gimmick than a middle finger to a long-held industry standard, though. They just had to get the 11-11-11 release date. They have precedent to leave us with no surprise if there is an October 23rd release but I don't think it would be as worth it to launch on a Friday as it seemed for Skyrim.

Hope we find out the map size during the conference. Could be mind blowing if http://i.imgur.com/EzaTAU9.jpg is anything to go by.

That map is actually fairly small.

If we assume that Fo4 has the same map size and scale as Fo3's did, then the map would be around this large

Wondered that myself so dug around a bit. Apparently Neilson (mostly its subsidiary SoundScan), the biggest outfit that tracks sales data, considers Tuesday-Monday the work week, basically. Therefore if you want to trumpet your awesome sales figures you'd best release when they're watching.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it's meant to be around twice the size of Skyrim's map.

I just don't want to be up at 3AM when I've got college tomorrow, where I'm planning a music video for Media, creating a simple game for IT, planning a university application and working on my CV and cover letter for a job. I'd love to, but it's not worth screwing up my sleeping schedule.

Aren't there several time-zones in Europe? It's at 9:30pm EST, you'll have to google a conversion since I don't know your time-zone.

So.. 12 hours from your post and 8 and a half hours from this post.

Bet they'll still have a ton of people watching them though. Politics aside, they do have some sweet looking games on the way.

"War, war neve~ Smooth criminal riff". Michael Jackson impersonators dance out on stage in unison, they do remain for the entirety of the Bethesda conference. A screen lights up a troll face appears, one last "You've been hit by a smooth criminal". And that is what I predict happens.

My prediction is they will show stuff that ignites the trolls (again) who call for a boycott of the game and then pre-order it a week before release.
