Fallout 4's E3 presentation. How will it go? [merged]

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:52 am

Check the poll, answer it. Maybe post to elaborate on your choice. Maybe talk about your favorite TF2 class. Maybe take drugs and kill a bear. Maybe sell bear hide to curio trader. Is up to you, but decide.

Poll and thread are merely me being curious about what the general attitude of the community is.

Voted the second option. I'm not expecting it to play all that differently from the previous games, but everything else I want to believe will be top notch. Number of NPCs, weather effects, new creatures, safehouse, etc.

I voted the last option - there just isn't enough information in that trailer to form any kind of definite opinion, and I don't even know yet if I'll be able to play it without sinking some $ into hardware upgrades.

All along I've been expecting Skyrim with guns, though. And that's what I'll continue to expect until I see something different.

I haven't though about it too much, but I guess I look forward to seeing more. But yeah right now I don't have a super extreme hype, though I am looking forward to the game. To be honest though, in may ways I am more interested in seeing footage from Doom.

I'm more worried about what I'll see. Currently I'm on the fence of buying the game based on the release of Skyrim and the deal-breaking possibilities that the trailer may have hinted at.

I'm very much hoping that Bethesda will prove me wrong and present a game that I will at least enjoy playing.

I'm not holding my breath.

I'm ready to give up on Fallout and move on but I can't because of that slight sliver of hope that Bethesda might get it right but I have zero excitement for it. It's more like anticipation of getting closure.

It's a Bethesda RPG, I know what to expect: fun, lots to do, and bug-ridden to Hell on launch :P

Im going with it having a skyrim vibe. Wont be shocked if we hear lots of skyrim voice actors, some type of skyrim powers, waterfalls and plummeting down into lower caves, underwater breathing, stealth, marriage, options for friendly fire and therefore immortal companions, easier puzzles, more large creatures akin to mammoths, mounts of some kind, bountys and bounty hunting

Ayeah... I forgot about what their Skyrim preview was like... So uh... Lots of scenery, scripted events and shiny spoons.

It's gonna be great.

Minds will be blown, children crushed under the stampede of people, Todd Howard torn to shreds as all attempts to grab Fallout 4 end in a bloody mess

With the official confirmation that there never be any last gen version of 4 putting another nail into the "leak" Im more confident then ever what we will see on Sunday gonna be a good, solid experience.

Hoping a bit to see Bethesdas Fallout, not "Black Isles Fallout, as interpreted by Beth" that 3 kinda felt like.

My prediction for E3. Todd walks on stage, Fallout 4 release date on his t-shirt, drops mic, crowd surfs, lights off. Boom.

I've got high hopes. I've loved all of Bethesda's RPGs, and I'm really excited to see what direction they've taken with the franchise since 3 and New Vegas, and the direction the studio's taken since Skyrim. Even if it doesn't live up to my expectations (which aren't nearly as high as some peoples'), I'm fairly certain it will still be a great game.

I voted for "I'm more worried I won't like what I'll see, to be honest. I hope to be proven wrong." because I'm afraid Fallout 4 will not have armor and weapons degradation, there will be essential NPC's, and there will be regenerative health again.

So yeah I'm going to stay worried until I'm proven wrong and I will not have high expectations at all.

So far I'm aware of 2 things disproving this leak:

1) The leak said it'd be announced at E3, but it was announced 2 weeks before.

2) As you said, the leak said it'd be on 360 and PS3, but it was confirmed to only be Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

But to me the things that told me it was fake was 1) the leak saying the PC version would be a top-down RPG like the original Fallouts, the console version FPS/TPS, and 2) That there'd be no character customization, you'd be a white male with dark hair. Those 2 pretty much killed the "leak" for me.

Hey everyone, I'm a wee bit confuzzled. I've looked at the E3 page and it starts the 16th which is 4 days from now. Is the presentation for Fallout 4 happening early or am I just missing something so basic as to need to get my eyes checked! :bonk:

I'm of the "solid game" crowd and long time BGS player!

You know what would be interesting? If Bethesda Game Studios did develop the PC version of Fallout 4 so you can play in a top-down isometric view and be able to switch to First Person view (FPS) and Third Person view (FPS) with a push of a key on your keyboard or a click on your mouse.

There are some PC versions of video games and even mods for some video games where you can switch to top down views and RTS types of views letting you build buildings then switch instantly to First Person view (FPS) or Third Person view (TPS).

Bethesda is doing their conference on Sunday the 14th, they're like the first group presenting at E3. Throughout the week they'll have more Fallout 4 related stuff going down. That's my understanding, anyway.

Actually Oculus VR's presentation was yesterday. Bethesda's is Sunday. http://venturebeat.com/2015/06/11/the-e3-event-schedule-watch-the-oculus-bethesda-and-other-livestreams-right-here/

I'm confident it will be a good game, just a little anxious whether it will be good in the ways I'd prefer. :D
