Nah I'm right there with you. That jetpack is the definition of ADHD game design I'm talking about. Not like "THAT'S PROOF THIS GAME WILL svck," but it is absolutely something that throws up warning flags in my head.

There was nothing in that stream that made me the least bit interested in buying this game. On the other hand, there were plenty of things that made me not want to buy it.
I didn't see skill points being increased with Intelligence, I only saw more exp points. I'm assuming it's gutted which is a double edge sword if true. Willing to give the benefit of the doubt but I know what I saw.
The gameplay looks solid, but they didn't show me the kind of game I'm interested in. I'll pick it up during a Steam sale at some point.
It looks like an incredibly fun game, but going on from this point I consider Fallout died with New Vegas.
They pretty much added every deal-breaker I mentioned and then some.
Not impressed. I'll wait for it to come out watch some LPs to see if I actually wanna support the new direction (not that it really matters they'll make a boat load regardless) if I don't I'll get it on the cheap when the inevitable GOTY version comes out.
Just looks like they're gutting a lot of what I enjoyed about Fallout with streamlined characters and story, voice protagonist, lack of skills, and consistent leaning towards the mass market with each new game they put out.
Don't get me wrong there are things I liked about it. The house/community building was cool and so was the crafting but I don't want to give up the essence of Fallout for it especially when you can do a lot of that stuff on PC already through mods. Just seems like their pissing on the hardcoe when the majority of gamers would have bought it regardless if they kept this stuff in there so why remove it to piss them off?

If you enjoy this new direction then I'm happy for you, personally I don't.
The killed it, everything about it was brilliant.
Except for the voiced protagonist part...
I picked the last option.
Positives:
Looked better graphically then I was expecting.
Combat and dialogue looked fluid.
We aren't an android.
Customization looked unreal tbh.
Negatives:
Skills looked to have been expunged.
Dialogue looks streamlined, as Longknife said skill checks look to have been removed.
Voiced protagonist and overly cinematic everything.
Fallout: New Vegas was the last great "Fallout" game, this game looks like generic fun.
I really hope there's more to this, cause if skills were gutted, this would go from "I'm indifferent and curious" to "probably not buying" for me. I'm sure people have recorded the footage though and will be playing it back. It's fully possible the skill part of SPECIAL description just isn't there and that the skill menu got moved, but yeah.....also possible they got gutted.
Terror of Death, what was that about Intelligence? Did you see it's description? I was derp and didn't try to read any of them.
It looks good, chances are I will pre-order it, if I can get my hands on the CE, if not I'll prolly just buy it on release day or something.
I really enjoy the fact that all the miscellaneous objects in the world now have an actual use instead of just being there to be sold.
One of the perks on the poster from the trailer had the same icon as the speech skill from past games.
Its likely that will influence speech checks or the like in-game.
Really worried about the story which is the main thing for me. Dialogue, as shown, svcks.
Combat looks fun tho.
Dynamic Volumetric Lighting!
Dialog selection seemed limited to four buttons from the controller.
Looks like they're doing what I expected them to do for Fallout 4. Voiced protag is the worst decision, though. Many points off for that.
Looks worth the purchase. It's always worth the purchase. Not the first option, because I actually play other games.
I'm super unsure about the dialogue. I wasn't a fan of the Mass Effect dialogue and the one shown looks like a straight copy of those games. There is voice acting, but how deep can the dialogue options be when trying to include all of that.
Other than that I was impressed on how much they showed and the quality of it. I'm neutral about creating settlements because I'm fearing the amount of empty space in the wasteland.
I saw Intelligence only raising exp, I did see Luck increasing crits and item discovery. I would need to have a 2nd look at the footage, which I definitely will in the morning.
I definitely have concerns about this as an RPG, for Gameplay I have no concerns but for the RPG aspects I do. It almosts sounds like Skyrim where gameplay was solid but RPG mechanics were terrible, We'll see.
See and that's worrisome. If they replaced the speech skill with....a damned perk that you take and then congrats you're always super convincing all the time, then lolwtf I don't think I need to explain how that's dumb.

No go it seems.
I chose the first option. Honestly to me, the only cons that I foresee are the voiced dialogue and the lack of skills.
On the dialogue specifically, it doesn't really look that bad to me, it's just that the voice acting may lead to more restrictions when it comes to creating your own character. As does the given backstory, but so far it seems just vague enough to allow for freedom when creating your own backstory.
Overall i'm really excited for the game and i'm really happy about what we saw. A lot of aspects of the game look very much improved compared to previous titles and the newly added features such as settlement building look really cool and it doesn't seem like the game was "dumbed down" at all really. Is the lack of skills disappointing? Yeah, but i'm personally very interested to see how they will replace the skills, that is assuming they just didn't end up showing the skills off and something happened to the skills section of the pip-boy (just considering the possible options).
Its not any less dumb then pure [45/50] skill checks that you can never win, nor is it any less dumb that you can never fail once you get 100 speech.
I can totally see that super speech perk happening, I mean look at the original Grim Reaper Sprint and Chinese Stealth Armor from Fallout 3. Those items were incredibly OP
"recharge rate of critical hits"
Uh...
Charisma affects your ability to persuade others in dialogue...
Agility affects sneak...
Skills appear to be KIA.
Beth you better have a miracle somewhere.
