[WIP/RELz] Fallout 3 Quest Patch

Post » Mon Feb 14, 2011 6:53 am

Before I start playing with this... What DLC do you have?

None at the moment. I'm thinking of getting them all in the near future (2 weeks or so?) but no promises. There are also a few issues in the vanilla game which I haven't yet fixed; the last objectives in 'Trouble on the Homefront' and 'The American Dream' do not update when the player finishes each quest and I don't know why. So I will still have more work with this patch, but I'm flying abroad pretty soon so it'll be a while before I get around to fixing those DLC overwrites. However, if you wish to make the patch DLC-compatible, then by all means! It should actually be quite a simple thing to do, so long as you've got the DLC's of course...

Here is the Broken Steel version: http://www.mediafire.com/?ovnwjlzytwz

It adds Broken Steel support for the latest version released as of 6/19/10. Anything Decane releases after this date will have to be updated by somebody (depending on when Decane gets the DLC).

The Masters for the FWE + BS version are currently not in "order" so if you use Bash you will get an orange icon, but it's otherwise harmless. I will be less lazy next time and try to flip the order of the Masters to make Bash happy, though FO3Edit wasn't allowing me (some error was popping up).

If its just a DLC compatibility patch why do you need FWE as master, seems like trying to force people to use FWE.

to the creators - still wondering about load order. I'd think right after the unofficial patches if not using FWE, but thinking that since FWE also has a main esp that it should also go after that.

thoughts?

These patches should be loaded below the FWE main and DLC esps, correct.

Shouldn't really matter, just important that these files are loaded below the FWE main and DLC esps to take effect.

Well my confusion from what you are saying stems from the fact that there are two main FWE files and esm and an esp. So it seems what you are saying is that to make sure it loads after the esm; however, since there is an esp that also replicates many of the things from the esm then perhaps if should be after that as well.

Sorry it is taking this many posts to get the answer.

I'm talking about the main esp the whole time :)
(wouldnt make much sense if I was talking about the esm since these are esps and would be automatically loaded behind the esm anyhows).

Yeah but the DLC are esm.

This answers it definitively - sorry my skull was thick on this - thanks.

FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esp
FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.esp
FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.esp
FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.esp
FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.esp
FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp

Is this still in development?
Would be great to see two versions, one for Fallout3 only and another one for goty.

+1 - GOTY here also using all included DLCs on the second dvd - So far only using Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch, unsure considering comments so far if this Quest patch is going to mess things up because the author is not using DLCs. Does anyone else not use them these days?, seems a bit far down the road of public take-up not to be using them (I presume all DLCs are available on steam by now also).

I dont mean to pressure the author into buying, but a definitive answer in the description

eg .. if you use DLCs - Please dont use this (or ensure DLCs load after this - possible BOSS-F suggestion for the people compiling the masterlist?)
