Fallout 1 questions...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:55 pm

Hey guys, been playing Fallout 1 for quite a little bit now. Old graphics or not, it is a great game. I'm fixing to hit level nine. Where are all of the gun merchants? I can only find one gun store in the Hub and I bought what I needed there. Junktown is out of the question because I killed everyone there because they turned hostile on me when I entered. Does the store in the Hub respawn? Where can I buy Microfusion Cells? The laser rifle is the best weapon I have and I don't have any ammo for it besides what came with it when I got it. Another question, I have Ian with me and he is loaded with all kinds of armors and stuff to sell. Where can I sell it? I don't get it. I can't find anyone with a decent amount of caps to buy my stuff and then I can't even buy the stuff I need lol. Any help would be great thanks.

There really isn't much to dump your caps on in F1. For a gun-merchant go to the Boneyard where LA was and meet the Gun Runners. They have goodies like the Plasma Rifle.

like shdowhuntt said the boneyard is your best bet, just be sure to take plenty of stimpaks and companions help as well.

There's two gun stores in the Hub. Jake in Old Town sells a lot higher quality gear. Make sure you've explored the whole city. For really advanced equipment like energy weapon stuff, however, your best bet are the Gun Runners as others have said. Although if you just want caps there is also a general store near the Maltese Falcon.

Also just in case you were curious Junktown probably turned hostile because you didn't holster your weapon when you entered like the guard asked. Or you tried to enter at night.

There is more to the Hub; Parts extend to the East and West. To the East there is another weapons dealer (has high end stuff too).

*** Interesting thing I noticed in several Let's Play vids... Many players don't realize that merchants in shops have items on multiple tables in their shops... Trying to "Use" any table with items will usually call up the merchant with different inventory (the contents of the tables). I've not seen anyone even attempt it (yet).

I've used that method as well. I think (but am not certain) that this also gives you more targets to steal things from without getting caught.

Doesn't look like it (but I'm not sure). I just had my PC enter Killian's shop while he was closed. I had him try to steal from all three tables. The first one (next to where Killian stands) he could steal from, the other two he could never get the steal menu no matter how many times I tried. He did not ever get caught trying to steal, my guess is that the game only checked the one time at the first table.
