Fallout 4 is recycled Fallout 3 !

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 6:52 am

After extended 15 min gameplay demo ,that's conclusion of people watcing it,on gamescom.
My fear come true , unfortunately ... 2015 we will get recycled Fallout 3 ,after 7 yaers...7 years was not enough for making new better engine?! It was obvious from first demo thats going to be the case for everyone using eyes and brain...pitty...I hoped ,I expected mirackle ,,a new true next gen engine,Fallout 4 deserved that....
Thats why they put settlement feature , so they can say it's not the same with fo3 ....a bone for hungry dogs....a pink glasses so we would not see the truth....and the truth is they decided to squise money from outdated engine ,playing on card of fans being hungry for Fallout ,and they knew fans will grab whatever is thrown at them....

Based on what we've seen already it's obvious that this isn't the case. Please post something based on evidence rather than just random vitriol directed at Bethesda.

I liked Fallout 3 and New Vegas, if it's M.O.T.S., I have no problem with it. If I don't need to buy a whole new PC to run - even better!

I only really want new stories.

I'm amazed that the Fallout world still looks like the, you know, the Fallout world.

If it looked like a different world it wouldn't be Fallout anymore.

I don't get it.

Fallout 2 to Fallout 3? "It's all different and I don't like it!".

Fallout 3 to Fallout 4? "It's all the same and I don't like it!".

Conclusion? Haters gonna hate. Play the damn game and enjoy life. Or don't and enjoy life. Up to you. But hating it isn't going to change it, and isn't going to stop others from enjoying it for what it is. The only person who loses here, is you.

Who cares? The engine works for what they want. I like the graphics they've shown thus far and the art style seems to be ahead of the other Fallout games imo. The game looks good enough and I can already see a huge number of areas that were completely revamped from Fallout 3. You're complaining about a problem that doesn't exist.

It's a lot more than enhanced. More like completely stripped and rebuilt. Animation is different, combat is different- including VATS, the way skills (perks) work are different, graphics got an overhaul with updated lighting. If it was simply "recycled Fallout 3" we would have been playing the game years ago.

It looks like he was just looking for a excuse to complain and to get some clicks.

Reading this thread is like watching paint dry, boring, predictable, and just plain sad.

(this. )

oh, and many games are indeed criticised for changing too many things.

Fallout 4 has clearly evolved, but it is recognisably Fallout's (well Fallout 3's) offspring...

Yeah, damn Beth for using an updated version of their engine.

Not like Id, or Crytech, or Epic/Unreal, or....... :whistling:

-----

Beyond that..... wow, so surprising! A Bethesda-made Fallout game will have lots of similarities to another Bethesda-made Fallout game! http://www.reactiongifs.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/im_shocked.gif! :ahhh:

So, basically it's all that we know and love about F3/FNV with a bit of fresh paint and a dab of cologne?

Great!

At my age, I'm not too hot about change.

Eh. Maybe I'm just getting old, but wishing for things to be different just seems like a waste of time to me. Discussing improvements, bouncing ideas around, and even designing said improvements in the way of mods is great fun. But just critiquing something for the hell of it just seems pointless to me. It is what it is. If you can't change it why worry?

Maybe it's just your tone. If you'd have said "Fallout 4 is a recycled Fallout 3. I'm disappointed it hasn't seen as many improvements as I'd like, but it still looks fun. It's going to be good that I can add mods to help meet my expectations until Fallout 5. I hope Fallout 5 makes more leaps. I'm looking forward to writing informed feedback to Bethesda after playing Fallout 4 in depth." then I might not have counted it as hate.

Seriously, though, what were you expecting? It to be an RTS? Or a text adventure? Or a third-person hack/slash collect-the-green/blue/orange-loot ARPG?

Why wouldn't it have many things in common with the previous game in the series? Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind, while different, still had a great many similarities. Someone looking to be negative could easily say "Ugh, they recycled the previous game" about those, too.

He speaks of critical thinking, and yet he's willing to take the word of some random journalist, who's the only one saying this is just Fallout 4, recycled Fallout 3 edition.... over the footage we've actually seen.

Nah.

Also.. if you want to be the voice of "truth", you could do with much cleaner writing. Nobody is going to take your words as the facts you claim them to be when you cite no sources, and butcher your own posts.

We've already seen plenty that contradicts your "facts"

Aaaaaand bethesdas decision to not show us gameplay bites them in the [censored] as a journalist predictably writes up a clickbait article at their expense.

Good.

Well if graphics are what you care most about I think it was fair to say that nothing changed much from what we have seen. To me graphics don't matter that much just so they are functional. I like Beth games for the exploration and freedom that are lacking in other games with pretty graphics. I look forward to the new features like settlement building and crafting. The real kicker to me is whether or not they got a good story this time which we won't know until we play the game. They really need to nail that one for me if they want my pre-order dollars in the future instead of waiting for a used copy or sale price.

I am getting impression that what ever you get from developers you are fine with that.don't you want the best possible game in all aspects in matching today's standards and technology?

No. People are saying the journalist is wrong.

I dont know how they know this, I have not seen the footage, but im willing to bet that he was looking for clicks. As I am bitter at not seeing the footage, I truly hope all the articles written about it are just as click baity and cringe worthy as this one was.
