Welcome to the Forum.. There is a search option. This topic comes up alot.

No I don't want Fallout/Fallout 2 to be remade. They did things that Bethesda can't or will not do, and that content would be removed. Bethesda would take locations that are supposed to be several miles apart and cram them together so that they are right next to one another. The content of the games would be to radically changed.

Nah, its been said before but I'd rather them focus on making new games with new areas and storylines instead of re-hashing whats already been done.

thanks for the welcome and the search tip, i didn't see it up there. perhaps i should clarify, but the point would be to retain content and go from 3rd turn based to 1st person real time. with the plots, quests and dialogue already taken care of there's no reason to change/omit anything. as far as the map goes, yes, beth's sense of geography is a bit extreme, but i'd rather walk a a ridiculously short few minutes from fairfax to bethesda than getting stuck with a world map as soon as you leave a town.... though, random encounters should be reintroduced to fast travel in the next game. all and all, it'd best be done by feargus and crew, but as beth's the owner i used it's name in the question as it would still be "their" game.

The thing is Bethesda can't or will not have things in their game such as drug use and harming of children. They would also remove or drastically change locations such as New Reno. Say good bye to being able to become a porm star. The world map/map node system adds alot to the wasteland feel of the originals. That towns are surrounded by several miles of wasteland. Fallout 3 and New Vegas don't have that same feel IMO. Fast travel also takes alot a way from that feel.

Would not be able to have the Highwayman and I doubt we would be able to kick. On top of that alot of things would be remodeled. Lockpicking would be replaced with stupid minigames. I could go on but the point is the content of the game would be changed so much, it wouldn't be the same game anymore.

I would rather they make a new game and try their very best to be as close to Fallout and Fallout 2 as possible, then for them to remake and ruin Fallout and Fallout 2.

One nightmare would be if they did remake it. The canon gets changed so much and worse, Bethesda fans complain about the endings and Bethesda removes it with some stupid Broken Steel type ending.

[IMO] Absolutely not.

But they would omit plenty.

I do agree that random encounters should make a return to series as well as them have the potential to pull the player out of the Map Travel between location due to ambush, or more positive encounters.

Fallout and Fallout 2 are for PC only. So if you have a PC made in the last 12 years, it can play Fallout and Fallout 2.

Anythings possible, but I do enjoy the Originals when they don't crash. Only hope I have right now is that this hang-over passes soon :sadvaultboy:

I bet ya they do get remade sometime in the next 15 years :fallout:

Interplay doesn't want to remake them, Bethesda doesn't have the rights to them but has said they have no interest in remaking them, which is okay with me because they need to stop remaking games and movies and start making new ones.

and Fallout 1 and 2 in the last 3 or 4 years since I bought them have crashed a handful of times, maybe you should install some patches, and besides you like Fallout 3, you should be used to an amazing amount of crashing and bugs, Fallout 3 is Crash and Glitch the video game.

No my Fallout 1 completely broke while I was in the Glow and required a bit more than a patch to fix that, total game break, but I'd made a class character and I wasn't going back to start again, maybe another time, my Bos.exe on Tactics was a nightmare, crashed all the time so I had enough of that but this time round FO2 is hanging in there at the moment. FO3 doesn't crash like when I first put a HDD in the 360 and playing it on the PS3 has smoothed out as well, so mostly Vegas, Tactics and FO1 are troubled affairs. I was actually doing some Mapping on FO2 mapper and my HDD on my PC died badly, total disappointment there :( lost loads of stuff.

Better yet, they can work on the MW Enclave! Maybe this time Bethseda won't portray them all as homicdial manics and let the player join them! :tops:

I have never actually played the originals so I have to say yes, that would be awesome!.......After they fix the terrible half-***** jobs they did on the programming of Fallout NV(and to a much lesser extent FO3) for the PS3

XBOX  PS3
