Fallout 3: Reimagined | Fallout 3 Recreated

Fallout 3: Reimagined
?
Hey guys! I've been making a few mods for myself for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas recently and so the announcement of new modding tools for Fallout 4 is really exciting. While I was thinking of ideas for mods for Fallout 4, I thought "wouldn't it be cool if everyone could play Fallout 3 but using the next-generation version of the Creation Engine?"

Well, that was the birth of Fallout 3: Reimagined. I plan to recreate the Capital Wasteland as well as NPC's, main story quests, side quests, characters, weapons and everything else found in Fallout 3 using the next-gen Creation Engine. The introduction of mods to both the Xbox One and hopefully the PS4, console players will also be able to enjoy Fallout 3: Reimagined, allowing for an enjoyable experience for both long-term Fallout fans as well as people completely new to the series.

Obviously, this is going to be a huge project and so I'm offering anyone with previous experience in either the GECK or the Creation Engine to become a part of this as well as voice actors, graphic artists, and anyone else who feels that they can contribute to the project. It's going to be a long process but with the community that exists around Fallout, I think it's completely possible.

Features

Improved graphics
Dynamic weather
More realistic water
Possible inclusion of Fallout 4's settlement building system
Possible voiced protagonist
Dynamic conversation system
Fallout 4's new V.A.T.S. system
More realistic character models
Improved animations
These are just a few of the features from the new Creation Engine that can or will make their way into Fallout 3: Reimagined.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm very aware of the scale of this and that other such mods have failed or never been completed however, I'm just trying to gauge if people would like to see this or if people are interested in helping.

If you like the idea of this or want to be involved, please let me know! Also, if there's anything you want to see or don't want to see, let me know also.

Thanks for taking the time to check this out! I hope we can make this project a reality

Dan

I look forward to checking it out... In three or four years.
Because, yes, it will take at least that long :D Good luck!

You might have better chance of finding people to help you after the FO4 G.E.C.K. is released in early 2016, and we create a mod forum here specifically for FO4 mod projects.

Unfortunately I have no experience when it comes to making mods, but if I did, I would probably help :tops:.

Go take a look at Skywind. That is effectively what you have taken on the task of building. The mods statement of '3-4 years' is ambitious in and of itself.

Yes, a lot of ambitious projects like this are started, but very few ever reach the point where something actually gets released.

Regardless, good luck. Maybe yours will be one of the those who do accomplish something

Indeed! Skywind is huge! I have a few people on board and have until early 2016 to up that. It certainly is ambitious but it's something I'm passionate about and so I'll do everything in my power to make sure it happens!

It's a fun Idea.

What might be more exciting, however, is taking the original Fallout from a 2D overhead isometric entirely turn-based combat game and translating it into the 1st person open world environments we've come to love with the Bethesda titles with ground and sky, and all the features of Fallout 4.

Start at Vault 13 all over again.

Meet Tandi at Shady Sands all over again, but like you've never seen her before.

Get reacquainted with an all new Ian, Katja, and Tycho ... now with much more complex and discernible personalities, voices, and companion options.

Travel the West Coast wasteland before there ever was an NCR.

Fight INTELLIGENT 1st Generation Supermutants.

Meet The Brotherhood of Steel for the first time all over again.

There's many people that haven't played the first 2 games in the series because they look old and dated, but, might try their hands at playing if it was all new next gen.

You'd have substantially more creative license in building the West Coast wasteland, and adding entirely new spots of interest to fill out the map while travelling since travelling in the original was basically click on the map and watch your marker move across the map until something interesting is revealed.

Think about it.

Don't know if it's true, but I think I heard that kid that made the big DLC sized mod Falskaar for Skyrim did such an impressive job that Bethesda eventually hired him, although initially they told him no.

Who knows?

Do a fantastic job of recreating the original Fallout, present it to Bethesda (before public release on Nexus), and they might either purchase the right to your work, and/or maybe hire you.

Don't take this lightly! Just Google "Tale of Two Wastelands". It's a project that converts Fallout 3 into New Vegas, and even with a relatively large team and many years under their belt they're still at testing stages. Bear in mind that this is bringing FO3 into an engine that is near enough identical!

Don't let me dissuade you, it's an amazing dream, and if achieved would be an staggering achievement. Just be realistic about it.

Why even remake F3 when you could do so much more? It's not even that old and with mods it can look next gen already.

Good luck either way, I just don't see the reason

Now that my friend, is an incredibly interesting idea! That does sound like a really fun project! I'd have to get myself reacquainted with Fallout 1 but that'd be really cool! If I was to look into it, would you be interested in giving me a hand? Doesn't even have to be modding, just creative input? You seem like you have a lot of interesting ideas! :)

Oh of course! I'm planning everything out and I won't truly know until the Creation Engine comes out in 2016 however I'm trying my best to plan it now to make my life easier later on! Thanks dude! It's going to be incredibly hard and tiring but I'm going to try my best to get it somewhere :)

You do make a good point my friend! It's an idea that I've been toying with however if something else comes up that is more interesting and would be a better idea, then I'm totally interested! Someone further down just suggested a F1 remake and that could be a much better idea than my Fallout 3 idea :) that's why I'm posting here, trying to see what people have to offer and see what they would want. Thanks for your input dude :)

Not to dissuade you or anything, but there have been many people trying to recreate older games with each new iteration of the construction kit/geck/creation engine. It is a massive undertaking and none have ever seen the light of day...although, I haven't looked them up recently, I admit. I don't know how much experience you have with modding but I remember when I first started messing around with the construction kit years ago, I started off because I wanted to do something grand too, but it takes a lot of dedicated time and patience, and experience to achieve something this size.

I would start off slow or join some of the groups out there already working on similar projects.

I'll say again, I'm not trying to bring you down or dissuade you from doing something like this, I just wanted to share my view. If you're gonna reach, reach for the stars, right?! :tops:

Absolutely dude! Everyone's view is welcome and I'll admit, it'll more than likely be incredibly overwhelming when it comes to it but I'm determined to try! I have a fair amount of experience although not on such a scale as this and so I'm modding a hell of a lot to try and raise my knowledge and experience. Teams do indeed seem like the way to go though and I'm currently contacting a few already. Thanks for your view man! :)

Didn't someone try to remake MW using the OB engine?

Seems ambitious but I'm not going to stop you. Even a scaled down version added like a DLC mod would be cool.

Remake Brotherhood of Steel. You know you want to. (I never played that one, but I hear it's awesome).
