Fallout 4 runs like garbage Xbox one

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 7:04 am

I really like this game when it is running at the 30 fps like its supposed to. But it usually doesent, especially during combat and going between cities. Sometimes it is so stutery and jittery and slow it isn't even playable. I'm trying to ignore it but I can't anymore. This is ridicolous releasing a game that can't even perform properly. Is there any way to fix this? Will I have to wait for a patch or something? This really svcks because I just wanna enjoy the game but this is making it so hard especially during the best parts of the game, the combat.Anyone else having the same problem? And if you know anything that might be wrong or can be changed please let me know. But I honestly don't know what you can do with and Xbox One. Thanks

Either I have got used to it or the game is running smoother now... I am not having as many problems as I did when I started the game up. Used to be just trying to sleep in Sanctuary would take forever. Now it hardly ever blips. Used to be that I had framerate chopping all over the place but now it hardly seems to be happening, even in heavy activity areas. Used to be when a mini-nuke or a vehicle went up that the explosion would be in stop motion... not so anymore.

Very confusing.

It ain't that bad.. At least for me, I only stutter every once in a while.. But the fps drops aren't as as bad as say, Assassins Creed Unity.. Love ACU but man it's so sluggish feeling IMO.. But back on topic, I don't think there's going to be anything until mods come out for us console players..

i'm on the xbox and its working really good, sure there's occasional framerate drop but only in dense areas when a new area is being loaded, i'm suprised how well its ran actually after hearing all the negative comments before the game came out.

I'm 30 hours in and not one hitch. A few minor (amusing) Bethesda Bugs. But nothing game breaking. Running smooth as silk. XB1 also.

i dont know the fps but i dont know how to describe it. From what i have read it is not techbically lag but i guess its somewhat like that. I know the fps drops because i watched that video on the fallout 4 performance on the consoles and when the fps drops it is similiar to what i'm experiencing except mine can be way worse.

No slow down or jitter during combat. I do however have some long load times. I did however run into a quest which I died and when I reloaded the conversation with the npc was slowed and jittery. I reloaded to prior to the quest and redid it and it was back to smooth. I'm wondering if you ran into a similar issue and since you didn't reload to an earlier time it stayed that way.

did i get a bad copy of the game or something then? cause after being outside good neighbor and fighting some gunners to game literally was running horribly and the sounds were even delayed to. This was what drove me to figure whats going on and if anyone else is doing something im not. The only thing i could think of was the setting to allow 50 hz and 24 hz but im pretty sure that doesen't affect gameplay anyway

I had my first real low fps and it started at Boston Commons area, where there was two vertibirds flying in the air. Once those two vertibirds blew up it seemed to help. Got a little bit near Good Neighbor fighting super mutants. It feels like the problem is when the game loads larger areas on the fly when combat happens at the same time. Out in the Commonwealth Wasteland I haven't seen any drop in fps, just Boston area so far.

I notcied yesterday that after about 4 saves when you go to save a fifth time that fourth save has no text like "Commonwealth" and no image in the rectangle picture spot. It usually takes a little while before everything shows up in that slot. I can delete it and everything it is just slower. Thanks for your reply and i think you are right about areas being loaded and combat as well.

Yep all you have to do, to see the facts is to type in fallout 4 performance issues or framerate drops and hit search and BAM there it is, web site after web site talking about these issues?

it actually plays really good on the xbox, its a huge game and there'e a few occasions where the framerate drops but its not that bad, it rarely happens and i've been in various areas in the city, with tons of big battles and you must not be actually playing the game on a xbox if you think its some huge problem, cause its not, with the massive size and density of the game it doesn't matter what platform you play on there is some occasional issue, it hasn't reduced my fallout 4 game experience one bit cause its a rare issue and when it happens its brief.

I agree with you, and if Bethesda at least puts an effort into smoothing out the framerate in some areas where gamers are complaining about..its not in the vast majority of the game but in key areas, if they optimize the game a bit I will be happy...im sure they can help it some what?

Okay well I contacted bethesda and they showed me some things to do and it has made it alot better. I promise you that i am on the xbox one and not exaggerating or making this up because its the reason i came on the forum in the first place. It took a couple days for me to actually come on here and talk about this. I belive that after i do a few of these last things everything will be smooth again. For whatever reason i came on here first to talk about this instead of emailing bethesda and i thought bethesda wouldnt email back for a while or at all. Thankfully they did which was great and after i finish my homework i am going to hop on xbox and see if i can fix everything. Thanks guys.

My only issue is that the game is currently unplayable for me. Because the Pipboy's screen is blank. Completely blank. It's makes all the noises of it functioning but there no way to tell what I'm selecting, etc. And nothing I do affects it in any way. Quick saving, then loading that save. Loading a save much further back. Starting a new character. Nothing does anything. The Pipboy is always blank. I am trying to be patient and understanding concerning this but it's been over a week since I've been able to play FO4. It just feels like I spent all this money NOT to play the game.

try uninstalling the game then reinstalling it, cause thats a bad glitch, you might even want to buy a digital copy of the game to download
