As long as there isn't any Dragon Age Origins/Mass Effect crap where the companions go unconscious when they are killed.

I wish we could customise the harcore mode. I like ammo having weight, companions being mortal and doctor's bags used to heal limbs, but it's just annoying to drink and eat.

the only thing that bothers me is the ammo wieght because in Fallout 3 i always use to carry tons of ammo and i still do its usefull. Plus i am use to the Compaion dying because i played F3 and i new my wasy to keep charon alive and i did good at it.

The ammo weight is actually my favorite, i only carry less than 350 for light rifle to heavy pistol, and less than 100 for heavy rifle. Never carry more than 35 .50MG's, i never need more than one at a time.

Bullets aren't weightless man. A box of about 150 .45 ACP isn't exactly feather-weight...

Its sad that games need a hardcoe mode added just to have ammo weight. One would think it should just be in the game. :sadvaultboy:

My guess is that the mainstream audience likes simplicity and like to casually play the games without having to worry too much about stuff. (To be truthful sometimes I want to do it as well but I thought that being able to choose "easy difficulty" was the solution to casual gaming and that the game should be designed to be hard(brutal) at default.)
Which makes me wonder why they play games at all because I was raised to games that brutally broke me down and had me sitting in a corner in fetal position crying and shaking.
So to me a game is to overcome a challenge and feel a sense of accomplishment for completing the challenge.
If people just play them for story or flashy effects then why don't they just go to the pictures or rent a film?
*sigh* I wish I could be a lead designer. :ermm:

Because the videogames had better stories than every movie nowadays

I played FO New Vegas once without hardcoe mode. For two reason. One: I noticed I had most of the rewards or what ever they are called. I noticed I needed the ones that can only be had without hardcoe like heal 10,000 with food. Two: I remembered a conversation I had with a mod, I think it was summer. Where the mod said something like "arn't you curious as to what it would be like without hardcoe mode?"

So for my fourth play through I decided not to have hardcoe Mode. It was the only time I was bored with New Vegas. Playing with hardcoe mode made New Vegas feel more like the originals. Without it the game was to easy. I get crippled I just need to sleep/stimpack, eating heals and I soon noticed I had Every firearm in the game with tons of ammo for each one. Made me feel like I was playing FO3.

Playing the originals I alwasy have to decide what weapons I want to use and make sure I have enough ammo of them because I could not have everyone in the game with lots of ammo. Adds greatly to Role playing. Fallout Tactics has http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Immobile, which I wish FO4 will bring back.

I hope every Fallout from now on has a hardcoe Mode for those that still like a challenge when playing a video game.

Yeah I only turned HCM off for one playthrough at Dead Money cause I just wanted to rush through it and get all the goodies.
Still, I wish there was a HCM+1 and HCM+2 for us that want that extra push towards brutal gameplay. :ermm:

Yes, at least for me,

The plots in videogames traps me more than any new movie that I seen

Most video games are just so filled with clichés for me, always the same kind of characters and same kind of "save/destroy the world" storyline.
But it depends on what games we play, I mostly play RPG's and 3rd person action games like [Prototype] and Red Faction Guerilla so it might differ.

Yeah but it would be very difficult to make, say, 'The King's Speech' into a video game.

Not entire games but certain content "in" the games, sometimes there's a lot of cliché's, sometimes there's less.

I am not sure if they would be able to do this or not, but I would like to have a bunch of options to choose from at the beginning of the game. That way, even if you are playing Normal difficulty you could still have some challenge. Some examples:

1. Ammo could have weight or be weightless.

2. Carrying too much weight roots you to the spot, or stays like it is in Fallout 3(where you can still move, but can't Fast Travel).

3. Companions are mortal. You can choose whether they become unconcious or worm-food when getting to zero life.

4. Choose whether food, drink, and sleep is implemented like in Fallout 3 or like they are in the hardcoe mode.

5. Tough Guy mode(like Styles mentioned above). If you die, you die. Time to start over. Of course, you should still have emergency saves that would be usable only in the event of glitches/crashes/freezing. The game should be able to tell that your character received lethal damage/radiation/starvation and when it happens, makes it final.

Those are just a few options of course, but to at least have the ability to choose what ones you want and which ones you don't should increase both replayability and up the challenge for those who want it.

Oh heck no for the tough guy mode! :P Hate it when I step right into some hidden mine field and 'splode, or fall down from some cliff, or get ambushed by some too strong critter or bandit. x)

You should be able to save, like in Tactics' Tough Guy mode, at your HQ. That could be your owned house.
