Fallout T.V. Series

Fallout - A world of destruction

A T.V. series would be nice, I am sure there are ways to go with the actual story too. I came to mind one day while i was watching a T.V. show ( The Walking Dead ). That there are no real real looking/good apocalyptic shows that take place about 100 years later

Due to comments i must say it's not all lore and similar you have to keep it interesting to get fans now put it this way would you like a building show or an action show? Do you want guns or just people making trees? Now it has to have action people are cannibals and crazy sometimes. Bare with me it won't all be action i am sure, the preview is just a short scene estimated about 5 minutes at most.

Now, i have some very good i ideas i would like to share if people wish to hear them, i am full of ideas and styles and have Fallout 3 to get even more ideas from. If someone wants me to edit and post some more of my ideas please make a post asking for them.

Idea - 1 -
Show Title - Fallout The New World

Scene Preview 1 : A day in the wasteland- You wake up outside a destroyed church with limbs and dead trees everywhere from radiation. You notice one of the surviving followers sitting on a log watching the fire, you are startled for a slight moment, and then realized who it was. You say "You okay?" with no reply. You walk over too the log and sit down next to the other survivor and say "So what's up?" he finally replies "I.. I don't know what too do my .. my boy is dead and now there is no..thing left for" you interrupt and say "There is always something meant to be with everyone, i know what its like, i too have lost many relatives in my short life. But, i still move forward hoping for the best, and never add guilt with any thing like that it really doesn't help anyone". You both agree and go back too sleep.. Three hours later. While you are asleep there is an explosion about two miles to the West. You are startled when you wake up and trip over a branch as you get up. about three minutes later , from being dizzy from hitting your head, you grab a pair of binoculars and look at the explosion to see raiders with guns running towards your camp.

I mean i know a lot about fallout scenarios (ex. in a scenario where you are in a partially destroyed school with raiders at some points there would be starved bodies, roaches, and just plain survivors, there would not always be guns, but there will always be famine, war, death, and bad living conditions. The only real nice place in a fallout wasteland would be a place like the vault , but it can have its ups and downs as well.)

I am actually a very detailed person with many lore ideas in mind for a fallout type of show. That preview up there was a small not very detailed scene, but it would also be somewhat lore to the fallout 3 game

If it is ever needed there could be a pre-nuclear fallout episode to tell how it all starts

P.S. please share your ideas too.

P.S.S. Remember Fallout Lore has a lot of action everywhere, it is based off of action a lot in my opinion (fallout 3 ex. You have to literally fight your way to your father and fight your way out with him, he can even die.) So come on is there really going to be major parts about recovering without action. Oh and most movies based on fallout are mostly action, i don't know of any shows based in a fallout, but i know one based in zombie survival. It has a lot of action between the survivors, zombies, and other difficulties. What i am getting at is there is more than one kind of action, there are ones such as well going crazy, emotional difficulties, fighting, and a lot more.

Good idea but I think it would be a hard sell to network exec's... and good heavens you would have to tone down the dark humor and semi sacastic look at america as some people are just a bit thined skinned.... heh course I would love it, being quite dense and all.... You know then again I have watched some of the rp stories (also located around here) and some of these people can write...

In general, I don't mind this. However, I'd want a true Fallout fan, not someone whos only played Fallout 3 and thinks he is a Fallout Efficianado. Someone who understands the Fallout lore, and will craft the world with love, not soley violence.

Sorry, not feeling it...any aficionado hired would quickly be fired by network execs who would ultimately turn it into a sitcom- perhaps by accident, but still.

While I don't mind a Fallout TV series in theory I still don't think I would want it to be made.
Why is because I do not think that a television or movie writer would be able to follow the lore.
He/she/they would most likely try to bend it or flat out break it to suit their work.

Next thing is that the protagonist in Fallout games doesn't have a "set in stone character".
We don't know if Vault Dweller talked the Master out of his plan or if he killed him himself.
We don't know if he was a small/big guns user or an unarmed specialist.
You can't roleplay with a television program nor a movie.

I agree with this. Someone like Chris Avellone and the other Devs of New Vegas along with the Devs of FO1. Also I would be worried about the T.V adaptation messing with Fallout Lore if not done right. It would confuse people that have never played Fallout or have no understanding.

NOPE.gif

TV shows are not first person experiences. A synopsis of a TV show does not ever involve "you" the reader being the subject.

"NOPE.gif"?

First person experiences?

Involving us the "readers"?

Sorry, but I think you missed the point about what Fallout is about. Fallout isn't about the violence or the desolation of the wasteland, it's more about the how the world is recovering after complete devastation. I've always what I felt what the series was really about. Sure the world of Fallout is violent and desolated, but there is still hope.

Now i know there would be places recovering , but i mean you have to keep it interesting, and if your traveling it wouldn't all be perfect in a fallout.

Like someone suggested at NMA, a show about Richard Grey and how he came to be the Master would be interesting.

That would be a hard sell to a network. TV networks tend to like happy endings, where good triumphs evil.

seriously. No. Not a good idea. fo3 is an rpg, games that could have a chance to make a bang in the movies are usually the action/sci fi based games. fo3 is a free lancing game. Most movies comes with a good bias.

I've mixed feelings about this. It would be nice to see the story unfold on the TV screen or big screen for that matter. But at the same time everyone knows Hollywood usually fu*ks [censored] up (over-night) and the show will end up like crap and the whole Fallout frachise will be laughed at.

Look at what happened to "legend of the seeker" it has basically nothing in common with the books besides some names.

Kinda like Fallout 3, huh? :P

It's not that bad, they are amateurs after all. Plus their accent is sixy.

It wasnt that the people who made it did bad, the cinematics were great. It's the fact that I feel it relys to heavily on cursing and the talk with that caravaner was way to repasted Fallout 1 'deathclaw fear' conversation you have with Ron Perlmans character. I find it funny they used a brit because you'd think they would sound like thate (what with dad having the accent and etc)

I just wish they'd put a little push into their emotion in the dialogue.

Yeah, the story is too much like the one from Fallout 1, IMO.

Richard Grey dies.

How is that not a happy ending?

Then its not the story of how he "Became" the master, is it?
