Fallout 4 settlements and government suggestions

Post » Wed Mar 02, 2016 4:29 am

Hey Bethesda would we ever be able to a sort of centralized government for the Fallout 4 settlements? It would be really cool to see that sort of feature, especially since the whole point of the settlements is to rebuild the commonwealth. If we ever do see something like that we should be able to choose the form of government too. So something like whether we want to be a king, president or maybe even like a sort of land baron type of deal. Being able to officially name a capital settlement would be really cool too. Also if we could see a slight population increase in the settlements would be cool too. Maybe even if we could form an army of sorts? All of these suggestions would be something really cool to see in the game.

Dictatorship, the only way to run the settlements in the wastelands. Work, or die.

There is some info in-game about what happened with the previous Commonwealth government. Its implied it ended badly and that's why certain things have happened the way they have.

Great suggestion!

Ooo! What if we have some randomly named npcs pop up that try this. We can then choose to support or fight these npcs. I'd like the option to promote an npc into leadership so I can keep doing what I do. ??

We kind of already have that, if we go through the MM quest line. I imagine that if a Minutemen-run government ever rears its head in later games, the leadership figure will indeed be called The General (rather than President/King etc), it's capital will be Sanctuary and it's southern military stronghold will be Fort Independence. It'll probably be something of a feudal system, where individual settlements 'pay' the government in aid and supplies, and are thus included under the umbrella of governance.

Fort Independence becoming something of note like The Citadel for the Brotherhood in the CW would be my pick.

Why isn't there an eyepatch in this game? That would be awesome.

You should suggest this on BGS twitter feed. Or better yet, Todd's feed. They're open to suggestions on there and you're more likely to get a direct response than on here IMO.
