I'm having a similar problem, you say reinstalling worked? If this is not addressed soon I may do so, thankfully I've invested only time into my vaults

I just started having this problem this evening, I got my phone 2 days ago, new, unused android and I figured it had to be the app or bugs that were crashing me on the loading screen, I hope a patch comes out soon, I spent money in game and really do not want to loose my data.

It was exactly the same with me. I have been playing for a week, then it crashed at loading screen and i couldnt initialize the game anymore.

I have tried many times to enter the game, then i decided to uninstall and install again. Now it works, but i lost my save! :( I'm very unhappy with this. I have wasted a lot of time ??

It seems like it's a real common bug. It even happens on ios and reinstalling gives data loss, so I really hope they get it fixed.

I sent an email for suport with this error and I got this answer:

If you are having difficulty loading your save file/vault, all that we can recommend is powering your device off then back on as this will clear your available system resources (RAM and cache). Try reloading your save file after powering the device on and off again.

As it turns out, that is the only troubleshooting that we can provide due to the nature of the mobile platform. Fallout Shelter is an offline game, meaning that we have no ability to alter or troubleshoot it after it is installed on your device. That is why we refer to the forums to see if there are any alternate solutions available.

As the game is offline, we cannot assist with recovering your vault, as it is also stored locally on your device.

For assistance with recovering or obtaining a refund for any lost in-app purchases from your vault, you will have to contact the support team of the mobile OS that you are playing the game on. In-app purchases are processed by the OS publishers (through the App Store/Google Play Store) –we do not have any visibility or access to purchases made on their platforms.

It obviously doesn't work. So I guess I'm gonna have to reinstall it too...
