How cool would it be to encounter your vaults from Fallout Shelter in Fallout 4? It should be possible since there is supposed to be the pip-boy app coming out with Fallout 4.

There's just way too many things to make this idea completely unfeasible to me and it's something that I wouldn't want to see.
NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!
I'm convinced we'll see a Fallout Shelter type DLC for 4. Not exactly but similar.
completely pulling this from my ass btw
So a bunch of failed vaults?
How is that any different from the norm?
I was just thinking about this yesterday. But if you want your vault from Fallout Shelter in game, you'll have to wait for the GECK. There is just to many variables that could go wrong with an automated system for it to be feasible, imo. Buy hey, maybe we'll get it anyway. But I doubt it.
This has come up a few times and my question is still the same.
Why should some players be denied access to ingame content becuase they don't have a compatible device for the App be bothered about the App or can't get the App to work properly?
Also, there's the little fact that this would be such a major feature they'd have said soemthing about it by now.
Regarding the second point, because they didn't bother with it. Just like it's fine to deny a player ingame content because they didn't bother to download a patch.
I just think it's a useless feature because it wouldn't add anything of narrative substance to the game (our Vaults have no backstory or experiments), it could contradict lore (Vault-Tec, which is confirmed to be the makers of the Vaults in Fallout Shelter, only made 112 numbered Vaults, so no Vault 626 or anything like that), and it would be a logistical nightmare somehow integrating our various Vault layouts into the game's world.
Disagree, leave alternate games out of the single player game. Hated Bioware for doing it in ME3 and will hate Beth if they do it.
Because Fallout Shelter svcks.
Also, complete nightmare to implement.
Eh, Fallout Shelter is clearly a non-canon sidegame.... after all, the real vaults didn't get built & occupied after the war. And they didn't get slowly built as more people moved in, they were completed beforehand and then filled. (Then there's the part where our vaults are full of unique characters from all around the Fallout universe - heck, my last vault had two Dr. Li's.)
There'd need to be online data-transfer components added to both games as well. And it'd be a play-balance nightmare. (Plus, the Shelter vaults are two-dimensional, which would make a terrible map/layout in FO4.)
No thanks.
When I read the title I thought it was going to suggest letting your Fallout 4 character play Fallout Shelter on his in-game pip-boy.
I don't see how it would be cool at all, really. Wouldn't fit, wouldn't make any sense, wouldn't add anything worthwhile to FO4.
My current vault has two Three Dogs. I renamed the second one Four Dog.
Big difference between a cosmetic outfit and what's basically a new area to explore.
I see fallout shelter as basically a taster for managing settlements in the game. I imagine it is very similar.
I hope not. Shelter was so basic and boring I can't imagine it being any use in a real game. Very let down by Shelter. I can't see it really being used as any building blocks for in game settlements either. Aside from the basic "hey your people need food water and electricity" it offers no complex needs or means of fulfilling those.
There are numerous games like Dragon Age that have various incentives for playing their apps with ingame items. This is just the next step in connecting apps with the games they are based off of. If this idea was implemented, then you could kill off all of the Vault Dwellers and your Fallout Shelter game would show that all your Vault Dwellers are dead. Or your Fallout 4 character could set up a Brahmin Caravan between your other settlements and the Fallout Shelter vault with various benefits provided in Fallout 4 and Fallout Shelter. It could also be possible to encounter one of the Fallout Shelter Vault Dwellers sent into the Wasteland in Fallout 4 with both games being affected by the encounter. So what you do in one game could affect what you do in another game. Of course, this feature would be completely optional.
As far as there only being 112 vaults in the Fallout universe, Vault-tec always lies so there is no accurate representation of how many vaults there are in the Fallout universe. There could be less than 112 vaults and there can be more than 112 vaults. Besides only 3 Fallout Shelter vaults will be implemented into the game if Bethesda decides to implement this idea and the Vault number from Fallout Shelter will likely not be used since there can't be more than one Vault 111. So Bethesda could force Fallout 4 to use Vault 113, Vault 114, and Vault 115 for the Fallout Shelter vaults instead of the Vault number that is used in Fallout Shelter.
Oh, so I take it your Vault is Vault 666, and the experiment is "What if we literally created Hell on/under Earth?"
