I agree that mobile is a big part of the gaming scene but I do not wish to see it become either/or with mobile and console/pc gaming ... they both have advantages and disadvantages ... I have been enjoying FS but now that I am at 200 well armed dwellers I have little to do but buff them up ... once that is complete I have nothing to do ... the console/pc games still offer a depth of play that mobile has yet to rise to ... after the hundred hours+ of Fallout 3 gaming I still have fond memories of the end sequence ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzpgMzP9pIg) ... it goes without saying that this would be a spoiler if you have any intention of playing FO3 and have not reached the end
Mobile games are still developing and have yet to consistently reach the power or immersiveness of a Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Bioshock, etc ... personally I would like to see the two genres work cooperatively together ... the Fallout franchise is big enough to support games on both platforms:
- Open World RPGs like Fallout and Elder Scrolls - this is still best implemented on the PC/console where the big screen and expanding space and capabilities offer the best gameplay and immersiveness
- Tower Defense - this is a mobile genre that could easily pick up elements from a PC/console franchise to implement a paid or FTP game
- Simulation like FS - I think this is an excellent first attempt but would like to see more depth in expansion of this title or in FS2
- Open World Exercise programs like Zombies Run - this could be an interesting genre for Fallout ... especially if they could somehow link your finds from the exercise explorations back to a console/PC game (go for a 2 mile walk using GPS on your phone and collect various ammo and crafting supplies which are then available in your other game)
- Turn Based Strategy and Real Time Strategy - kind of the opposite of what Blizzard did with Warcraft I think the FO universe could easily support these genres on either mobile or PC or both
I play and buy lots of games on mobile as well as PC so I like both platforms and would like to see both get some gaming love
Note: one other interesting addition to Fallout could be ebooks and audiobooks ... I very much loved the Blizzard audio book for The Order that accompanied the release of D3
