Fallout Shelter Not Loading After Running Fine For Two Weeks

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 6:22 pm

This Is a joke I expect a better customer service from a large company like Bethesda it's been 2 weeks and no correspondence at all apart from what looks like an automated link directing people to a forum that seems to have no answers from Bethesda at all just other costumers with the same issue as me not getting any help or info on how Bethesda is going to fix or resolve this you cannot charge for in app purchases when your app stops working and you have no interest in either refunding those purchases or informing customers your trying to fix the issue I really expect better and am very disappointed

I downloaded your game on the release date for andriod and have been playing it 2 weeks without any issues or problems or crashes now today 24th August the game will not load just exits 10 seconds into the loading screen I have closed the app cleared the cache reset my phone but nothing now I would normally un install and re install the game but I've paid for in app purchases which I will lose in the process which I'm not happy to do and not to mention the hours of play I will lose so would like to know where I stand or what options I have.

Same exact problem starting today. Android lollipop latest, galaxy tab s 10.5.

Got $50 invested into this game. I will initiate chargebacks if it is not fixed or i cannot be refunded.

Tie the game to our google accounts and use google drive as a savegame bavkup/migration tool.... Much crappier games have the function.

Fallout 1/2/3/4 pipboy edition preorder customer here. Please fix this. Ive tried rebooting numerous times, even cleared app cache...

To the OP: you CAN get a refund. Just address it to Google Play (or Apple if you used to play the game on iOS) and explain what happened (but do please use punctuation marks) and you'll likely get a refund. I played the game on both Android and iOS and had done in-app purchases on both that were not as expected (lunchbox rewards not being added to my game on Android, permanent crash on iOS,...) and got a refund both times. If something you purchased does not work as advertised, then you request a refund.

To the others:

If your .sav files are larger than 0KB, try these steps:

  1. On your device, open your file explorer app and navigate "Android/data/com.gamesas.falloutshelter/files/".

  2. Search for a file named "Vault1.sav" or something similar. If you have multiple vaults, then there may be multiple .sav files.

  3. Copy one or all .sav files to a different directory for backup (for example, you can copy them to your "Download" folder, just make sure it is stored somewhere safe).

  4. Uninstall Fallout Shelter from your device.

  5. Reinstall it.

  6. After it has installed, go back to your file explorer app and copy the .sav files you temporarily placed in your "Download" folder (or any other folder you placed them in) back to "Android/data/com.gamesas.falloutshelter/files/".

  7. Launch your game. Enjoy playing your vault again.

Same problem. Worked fine for two weeks, now it crashes when trying to load every time.

Sad to hear it didn't work!

I'm afraid I have no other ideas, I fear you'll need to wait until someone else has found a solution or until they patch the game.

EDIT: according to user BrokenHaiku, he/she had a similar problem (in iOS though, but it might work on Android too) and he/she solved it like this:
