Fallout Shelter won't start anymore

Google.play CANNOT BE CONTACTED FOR REFUNDS!

A refund request requires a transaction id. In app purchases dont get given one in the Google play app.

So ill be going back to Bethesda. Yell some more

Yes, Thankfully just received notification that I will be getting a full refund. Thank you Apple!



Whether I start a new vault or not, wow, couldn't imagine this without seeing a patch that guarantees no loading crash or better yet, a backup multi save system so if one file corrupts you're not DONE! Let's go Bethesda you've got a long line of dwellers at your vault door ready to get in, please patch!

I really hope the devs know about the problem and are trying to fix it! I would just feel comforted knowing that a fix is in the works, but I guess they don't want to tell everyone that while they are still investigating in case it turns out all the saves will have to be re-done from scratch or something.

Same issue here.. HTC one M7- battery died whilst the app was still open. I've made an account just to add my voice to the crowd. 107 dwellers and about £60 of lunch boxes + Mr. Handy's. Now I can't get past the second loading screen, like everyone else it just chucks me out back to my home screen. I didn't realise this has been an ongoing issue across Android and IOS devices and now i can't believe the devs haven't responded to the mass amount of complaints. I'm just totally gutted as along with you all, I really enjoy Fallout Shelter and feel cheated by this stupid bug.. Hopefully we'll at least get compensation for the money we've spent even if we lose the time spent on our vaults. Please post if anyone hears anything new about a fix or a response from Beth's dev team.

A multisave system is probably the best way to do it I imagine? I mean it wouldn't even necessarily have to be visible to the 'outside' but if the save ever gets corrupted then the app just automatically uses the newest back-up.

To sad to read through all of this here.

At least I can be happy not to spend a cent on the game.

A system where you can by ingame stuff for real mony hadt to have a backup system, so in the case of a bug or crash the money would not be lost.


Hope some of the players are going to court with this one. Cause simply ignoring all the reports here and givin no comment or advise is the best way to realy piss of the customeres.


It has the taste of "no since we have youre mone, our job is done"



So an now back to topic:



I am having the same problem as mentioned above. Played the game for 3 Days now. I was just on the way to get a good vault runnig after 2 trieouts. No Problems so far, besides some lags for a few seconds now and then, and a few crashes to the home screen. But all the time I coud just simply restart the game an everithing was fine.


I was playing half the day, switching it to background and back, switching to other apps, everything worked fine. Then it happend, I switched to the home screen and tried to get back into the game after some time. Since the I do not get further than the first two slides of the welcome screen. No main menue instead it sends me to the home screen. No Crash Report no posibility to send a bug report, no error message. And my battery wasn't drained, it was about 75%. Also it seems my Save Files are not zeroed out. There is no 0kb file in the game folder.


The game just refuses to start.


I am using a Motorola MotoG (2014) with stock Android 5.0.1 and please do something to get the game running again. Cause what happens here is no good lookout for Fallout 4.



Oh an btw. a Forum is no real support and just shows that the dev does no take his responsibility to the customere seriously. A goods uport or customere service gives the customere an oportunity to report his bugs/problems personaly with the posibility to place specific questions and the supporter to ask specifics about the problem.

They will be made accountable I promise you, I am giving the devs time before I resort to more legal matters, especially as Google will not refund as per above. I can and will do if pushed by neglecting to respond here. Tomorrow I will e-mail them directly making them aware of the Forbes article (& e-mail they sent) and this forum post, then move on from there.

Like most people, I'm weighing in here with exactly the same problem.



Fallout Shelter crashes at the loading screen on the third slide where it says 'please stand by' - closing down and returning me to my home screen.


Multiple attempts to load the game fail, leading to the same outcome. (Isn't the definition of madness, repeating the same thing in the same way over and over again, expecting a different outcome?)



It happened to me today for the first time after it crashed and closed mid-game. I had about 38 dwellers - nothing intensive.



Fortunately, I read this thread before deleting the game. I purchased the 5-pack of Mr Handy's yesterday. I understand I'd lose them if I uninstalled the game.



So! Is there a fix in the works? If not, how can I reclaim the £3.07 I spent on my small, Mr Handy collection?



(I'm on a Galaxy S4, GT-9505, running Android 5.0.1 - Downloaded Fallout Shelter on Thursday, the 13th of August )



I hope we'll get some kind of official (and positive!) response soon.


I just want to get back to playing...

Same issue as everyone - battery on my Samsung Galaxy S4 died, and now the game won't open. I had 60 dwellers and spent about $8 on a lunchbox and Mr. Handy pack.



I was not amused, but I did get a refund.



I contacted Google Play and they gave me back my money. I saw someone say that they couldn't get a refund from Google because they didn't have an order number to enter. You should have had it sent to you automatically via email when you purchased it. If you purchased multiple things, it will send you a different order ID for each and you'll need to request a refund for each one.



That said, I still want my damn game back.

This just started for me today. I was playing and exited the app and upon coming back a few minutes later it crashes before the Main Menu comes up.

I tried for the 3rd time today to get the app to run and load my vault (the first 2 times it crashed) and on my 3rd try it loaded and my vault is working. haven't lost any of my purchases or my dwellers. just everyone is unhappy from me not being able to manage. But other than that it all seems to be working normally for right now.



I'm on a Galaxy S4.

Same thing here except I'm playing with BlueStacks, I reinstalled and lost my save including the 40 [censored] lunchboxes and 5 Mr. Handies I bought. I'm pissed off now. Why are Bethesda programmers so incompetent?

I didn't reinstall mine. I just waited in frustration and nothing was lost. The game worked as normal starting an hour ago. Sorry for your loss.

Hope this guide I have wrote helps all you Android dwellers:



  • To get a refund on 1 purchase

1)Log into your google account via the Google Play store in a browser is easiest


2)Click the 'cog/settings' icon on the top right and select 'my account'


3)For a purchase in this case Fallout Shelter, click the ... (sideways) and report a problem


4)From the dropdown select 'Purchase is defective or doesn't work as advertised' and submit



  • To get a refund on multiple purchase

1)Repeat the above 'To get a refund on 1 Purchase; and on step 4 select 'Calling Us' on the line 'If you’d like to request a refund, fill out this form and we’ll get back to you over email. If you're requesting refunds for multiple orders, we recommend calling us.

Man, I feel so bad for Google (and even a bit bad for Apple even though they are....). They are eating the refund cost themselves to keep their customers happy; they won't get a penny back from Bethesda.


That is a real shame that this debacle is hurting so many innocent people because Bethesda won't address it, own it, or fix it.


My Fallout 4 hype just took a really big hit. Depending on how they resolve this over the next few weeks I may consider the unthinkable - not buying F4 new.

I have the same problem here(Moto G 1st Gen). And, unfortunately, seems like no one *censure here* cares... Maybe forcing us to uninstall and reinstall the game from Google Play gives them $omething, and once its a FreeToPlay game they really dont need to rush and fix it, they are getting their money from people getting lunchboxes and downloading the game anyway.
