Fallout 4 should have dragons!

Post » Fri Aug 12, 2011 1:30 am

It should, just use some assets from Skyrim and this game will be golden!

Post Apocalyptic world, check.
Underground subway being bult, check.
Dragons destroying and inhabiting a city, check.

And we got ourselves a Reign of Fire reference. Do it Bethesda!! I want to hit dragons with an exploding arrow!!!

Look, I'm grateful 'n all about Bethesda bringing Fallout back to the frontier of gaming, even more grateful of them putting Fallout back in the hands of its original creators after Interplay separated them, I'm grateful for the things Bethesda has done, but this needs to stop, just because they are both Bethesda RPGs doesn't mean they have to be so damn similar, let them be different and be great. You're getting your TES all over my Fallout, and it tastes gross.

For Christian Bale as a companion, I'd be fine with dragons.

For these exact reasons ... NO!
Why would a future setting with LASERs be using exploding arrows and not grenade / missile launchers.
How would a "dragon" actually come about since I can't figure out how a little Rad could make a lizard sprout wings and spit fire.
Maybe a Fire Gecko and Deathclaw had a fun night, but wheres the wings

I think by 'exploding arrows' the OP meant bullets but the other two are perfect arguments against this rubbish.

No, no. In Reign of Fire I'm pretty sure they use an arrow to kill the main dragon, so I'm guessing that's what the OP meant.

If exploding arrow is a reference to The Reign Of Fire then my bad because I haven't seen that film, but when the OP says exploding arrow I instantly think Bow and Arrow with dynamite attached which just sounds daft considering all the more advanced and effective tech lying around.

Ehm... dragons. Ok, as much as like the Reign of Fire reference, dragons in Fallout would not be as good. I mean, if there's an uncanon reference to Reign of Fire in Fallout 4, then sure. Maybe some huge fire gecko which has what appears to be wings, and without a head, and nearby there's a unique bow and a few explosive arrows that you can pick up (which I hope will be added without dragons anyways, bows and crossbows that is. I think they are cool and fitting for the post-apocalypse, no matter how redundant pre-war firearms are after 200+ years.) Oh, and nearby there's also a fire axe, from that failed kill attempt by Matthew McConaughey.

But nothing more than a uncanon easter egg! It shouldn't even be a real dragon.

Yep!

Although I think Wild Wasteland should be a toggable option instead of taking up a Trait spot (and there should be much much more Traits in Fallout 4, I was so sad with them in FNV :( )

No, I think that the Geck 2.0 and the guy who said New Vegas should have an expansion pack of the entire world are still sillier.

I kinda liked the traits, though a few more would be nice. Wild Wasteland should contain a whole lot more mature/aggressive/comical content cause it seems pretty tame to me. I always took Four Eyes because it seemed like the only beneficial one.

Hmmm....
No.

But they could keep the dragon mechanics and stuff for the GECK so that it can be modded.
Cause while I would not want it in a Fallout game as official content I wouldn't mind trying out going toe to toe against a dragon with a power fist.

But no dragons.
Simply no.

I do wonder what Bethesda will do next.
I mean, for Fallout 3 we had VATS that was the big "new" thing, a new cool feature that lure people in with it's shine.
Then we had Companion Wheel and Crafting and Iron Sights in New Vegas to give new toys to play around with.
But Bethesda wants to do things "big".

So honestly, I'm worried.
Cause they spent a lot of time developing dragons to be a uniquely new enemy with it's own mechanics.
And the Dragon Shouts and the new magic spells.
I'm worried about what new shiny toy Bethesda will bring to Fallout 4.

It's like, if you've seen the zombies in Dawn Of The Dead 1978 rip open people and eating their flesh then going to Resident Evil where they just kind "bite" people and don't show any goriness then it won't have much of a punch anymore.

So what will Bethesda bring to Fallout 4?
They did VATS, and now they're going even bigger with fully fleshed out Dragons, new magic and Dragon Shouts.
What new shiny toy will there be that's "AWESOME!"

I'm really, really worried. :(
