fallout as a TV show

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 11:30 am

so after a few days of playing fallout 2 i started thinking with all the random stuff like side quests and random encounter and just the funny ass [censored] the happens in that game it would be perfect for a TV show over a movie. and that way they would be able to put as much stuff into it as the possibly could. like of course the main story.

like have you ever watched a TV show based off of some thing like say a book? for (ex. legend of the seeker ) based on the sword of truth series of books. they screwed that up so bad by adding in all that extra crap that never happened inbetween what actually happens in the book that it pissed me off to no end. but i couldn't stop watching cause the sword of truth is my favorite books of all time.

but any ways from stuff like that we know that there gonna add in a bunch of random crap inbtween the main story and what better franchise than fallout to do that with.

so my idea would be some thing like this not the best idea but i only just thought of this like 5 mins ago but here we go.

so it would start off with fallout 1's story. they could add in there own version of the intro video with all the stuff on the TV as it pans out and then the whole war, war never changes speech and that would be the first few mins of the show. then if they wanted they could make a whole little thing introducing the main character and his life in the vault. and then the overseier finding out that they need a new water purifier chip and then figuring out what they need to do and how they come to the decision to choose the main character to go out and find it.

and then they would show the overseier telling him about the water purifier failing and show him getting ready and maybe saying good by to his friends and family or if hes not aloud to tell any one maybe just a friend or one of his family memebers and then you would see him leaving the vault. after he leaves you would see him making his way through the cave and finally making his way out there would be some thing kinda like how when you finally leave the vault in FO3 and go out side for the first time and since the character isn't used to natural light he is temporarily blinded and then his sight slowly comes to and you finally see how the world looks for the first time. that would/could be the end of the first episode.

episode 2
would start out with the main character coming out of the cave and be all uh [censored] i can't think of the right word so for now i'm just going to say wowed. so he comes out and sees the world for the first time and is ( oh here it is ) in awe of what he sees then after a few mins he collects him self and starts off in the search for vault 15. when he comes acrossed shady sands and he goes around town talking to peaople meats ian and they talk for a bit and he tell the main character about the wasteland and how ( just throwing stuff out here ) one shouldn't travel the wastes all alone and offers to join him on his quest for the water purifier chip. so as hes asking around trying to get direction for vault 15 ( again just throwing stuff out to change it up just a little )he talks to the guy that gives you the quest to kill the rad scorpions. he asks him about what the scorpions are and the guy tells him all about how some one need to get rid of them cause of all the people getting stung and all that. then ian tells him that he knows were the scorpions and that they would moste likely get a reward if they got rid of them. and that if he wants to survive that he also needs money. so they go to the cave and it shows them killing off moste of the scorpions before they have to retreat.

as they are runing out ian stops just before the exit of the cave and the main character yells at him asking him what hes doing and then ian pulls out some dinomite and sets and starts runing telling him to run like hell. you then see the dinomite go off and colaps the entrance to the cave. they then return to shady sands and get there reward . which is stuff like money food and water and other suplise like rope and wepons

um well half way through the secound episode i thought of a nother way it could go i'll try to make this a short summery of what i just type with a difference

so he makes it to shady sands talks to people ask if any one knows were vault 15 is when the guy you get the quest for comes up to him tells him about it and that there would be a reward if he could acomplish it so he then thinks it over for the night and finally decides to do it finds the guy and tells him that hes gonna do it and you see a guy close by that over heres there conversation and comes up to him saying.. " your gonna there alone your crazy kid" ( or some thing like that ) "your gonna get your self killed, and then he eventually tells him that hes gonna join him so he dosen't get kill ( again or some thing like that ) he then intoduces him self as ian and he hands him a gun of some kind and they set off and pretty much every thing i said up there about the rad scorpion cave. they return and the town is thankfull for him for stopping the scorpions from returning and they reward him with food water medical suplise ( ex. stimpack and so on ) money some rope and a few other usfull thing that he might need or be able to use while out in the wastes. after all that the guy giving him the reward tells him " so i hear you were asking for directions for vault 15" main character says yes the guy then tells him how to get there and main character puts it into his pip boy and starts off. but ass he leaving ian runs up to him and asks him if he can join him on his quest they then set off together for vault 15 and you see them walking off into the distance and thats the end of episode 2

ok sorry for so much typing but yeah pretty much thats how i see see it tell me what you think is the better of the 2 or what parts from each could be put together if you can

so to put ass much stuff from the fallout games as posible it would one have to be a show that was on stars or HBO, each season would have to be like 24 - 25 episode long and yes for those of you that don't know there are shows with season that long each episode being an hour long, the first of each season could be an hour and a half each season could just be the next game in the series excluding tactics and bos

the secound season which would be based on the secound game would deff have to have stuff like the car and the part were you accidently run that guy over that part hilarious its stuff would be all the extr stuff that they would put in the show so as to not screw up the lor

ok dun tell me what you think and sorry again for the length

pretty much a lot of stuff from each idea of episode 2 would be combind like the whole begining part with him coming out of the cave and then coming across shady sands, ian telling him about the wastes at some point or anouther, the whole killg the scorpions and ian caing in the entrance to the scorpions cave with dinomite and a few other things but other than that tell which ideas that werent mentiond right here would be better

I have a somewhat biased opinion but I don't like the idea of Fallout becoming a TV show at all.

A Fallout tv show would be better than a movie. AMC could probably do it pretty well, SyFy could to if they do it like Stargate Universe or Battlestar Galactica.

It would be good if they managed to do it right, but there is a small, small chance that they would be able to make a TV show or a movie that portrays the games without [censored] up the lore or something else that will destroy the games.

yeah they would probably [censored] it up like they do every thing thats based on a book or game
or even some times when they remake old tv show into movies like the dukes of hazard how daisy duke was supposed to be brunet but she was a blond in the remake. all because the director was like she was supposed to be a brunet but come on its jessica simpson. just caus a chick is hot dosn't mean you should [censored] up some thing like that and don't even get me started on legend of the seeker that show pissed me off so many times

but if they did some thing like how ubisoft is doing in making the assassin's creed movie and have full creative right to every thing in the movie then they could probably do it really good or at least close enough not to [censored] it it up

Starring Denzel Washingmachine as the lone wanderer, and Justin Bieber as Dogmeat.

New Vegas could, in my opinion, make for a good TV show.
Simply follow the story of the Courier, there's plenty of philosophical, romantic and historical points to be made. I mean ffs you could make an episode about Lily and why she doesn't take her meds as much as she does.

Fallout 3 would be more like a Michael Bay movie.
FO1 and FO2 would feel like a short movie series. Yknow, a movie that's too long for theaters but needs to be ~4-5 hours to cover everything. You could also make it a short series (one season long, one hour episodes perhaps?)

Personally I think New Vegas would be the best candidate though as it has the most content that can be taken away from the series; FO1 and FO2 would be sci-fi, FO3 would be a braindead action movie, but FO:NV would be a story with a purpose.

yeah i was actually just the other night thinking about how they could make new vegas into ether a movie or a tv show there is two ways they could make it a movie 1. they could split it up into a bunch of movies by making the first movie revolve around the first half of the movie up to the point where you finde benny and they would most likly kill him. then the next 4 would be about each of the dlc and the last movie would pick up were the first left off. well to make more since i guess were the movie about lonesome road leaves off

2. they could just make new vegas main story one really long ass movie with moments were they show parts of each dlc in a montage of him doing things in the waste land to speed things up
and then they could make each dlc a movie as a sort of prequel to the end of the first if that makes since.

but a tv show would probably do it way better than the movie cause they could put more things into the story through out a few seasons than they could in a few movies
but then again idrk it all depends o the director and whos writing it

whats your ideas on this idea

AMC should do it. I would love a television series based on the Fallout universe if it's done properly.

Then I hope AMC just base it of Fallout, and not try to make some storyline :/ Because I really didn't like what they did recently with The Walking Dead that seriously contradicted the graphic novels :(

If it was a TV show they would try too hard and add the BoS or the Enclave and it would look corny, and lore would be ruined, and then people would be mad... That's what I think.

well they said that the reason they that they did that was because if they would have dun it page for page then the show would have been really boring and not as good. and i think there doing just fine so far i mean the only big changes that i have seen so far are a few new character anda little bit of a story change but its not to big of a change tho well imo

I think that the show is trying to be independent from the comics so they can do more things.

imo if they did make it into a tv show they shouldn't add the bos untill a later season so that way if the first season does well enough they would have more money to make better special effects and props and it would be most likly better than if they had them in the first season

yeah pretty much from what they said thats they way i look at and its still fairly acurate cause the main parts of the comic like the kid getting shot them going to the farm, finding out that the barn is full of zombies and all that was in the comic just with some change to the story inbetween to make it a little bit more interesting for tv

I am for them having creative freedom, adding new elements and story arcs, but if they are basing it on the series of graphic novels, then they are damn sure basing it on the series of graphic novels! How different are The Lord of the Rings movies from the books? Any drastic differences like in The Walking Dead? Sure, Sophia died, she wasn't that important of a character, and story has a bunch of minor changes but to do THAT big of a change as they did, completely changing something in the graphic novels that's a favorite of mine, well.... :/

The Lord of the Rings books and movies are actually very different...

To me its similar to one of those movies that says based off a true story, only the story part is somewhat true, most of the stuff that happens in the movie probably didn't happen in this so called true story, so that's what the show is like to the book to me.

If they did make it a show, they should never add the BoS. But what I am saying is they would do something dumb like that, they have about 46 other states they could make just about any story and they would just throw it somewhere we have been. If they made a show it would either have to be basically a remake of one of the games in show version, or something completely new for them not to ruin it completely.
